For almost a year, I haven't purchased any gadgets due to crypto market trends being bearish. But yesterday, I finally decided to replace my old keyboard with a new one. And here's why;
For the past 6 months, I have been experiencing keyboard malfunctions when using my external keyboard with my laptop. This greatly affected my programming productivity. The keyboard usually disconnects automatically which always leads me to manually connect it back. This happens almost every 3 minutes which is annoying. At times, it randomly starts pressing any key. I always have to manually disconnect and then reconnect before it works fine again.
The malfunctions I experienced yesterday the 17th of January were the worst yet. I had no choice but to start searching online for new keyboards. I found a few options, but they wouldn't be shipped immediately, so I reached out to a friend to help me get one on his way back from work instead.
He got to the store, then he shared a photo of a few ones for me to pick from. I did. After 2hrs, I finally received the keyboard and I am thrilled with it.
Initially, I thought it would be longer than my old one, but after receiving it, I realized they are the same length.
Both keyboards have similar features such as the length and quality of the cable, led, and key arrangements. However, there are a few differences;
Old keyboard | New keyboard |
---|---|
Black color | White color |
Color switching key | No color switching key |
Mechanical key feel | Soft key feel |
Came with a Mouse | No Mouse |
I'll have to spend more time using it to fully get more comfortable with it. But so far, it has a soft feel and I am enjoying it.
I tried to find the cause of the old keyboard malfunction but u couldn’t. The only possible reason I found was that the cables were already ripping off.
I doubt if that was the reason. I also tried reinstalling drivers but it didn’t help. My new toy is an excellent keyboard, and I am excited to continue using it. Hoping it gets me back to my productive mode.
The keyboard looks so lovely and nice.
Thanks. Computer village thingy!
Nice keyboard and nice appearance
I just changed my keyboard too, I have two like the one you had, one is in perfect condition and I gave it to my husband, the other one I gave it to my son, the wires are getting damaged or peeling like yours and it seems to me that it was the way it was wrapped.
As for your new keyboard it is beautiful, I love white keyboards, but I imagine they must get very dirty although there are ways to avoid that.
Congratulations on your new keyboard!
Hahah awesome. My old one was a mechanical keyboard while the new ones isn’t. I’d love to give my old one out. But I havnt found anyone that needs it. Till then, it’s chilling in my cupboard. 😂
