Blockchain Gaming Yin and Yang

I've had a pretty decent Hive gaming week where I pulled some rare cards from Hive games reward pools. I also had (for many readers more interesting part) extremely bad ChainZ Arena week.

In Splinterlands my daily quest produced Golden Spirit Miner, this is my first golden legendary quest card, took me awhile but I got one. My next big investment dCity produced me a technology card GMO Farming and 2 background cards Everest and Rockies. dCity might be one of the best crypto games out there, right now it's at 5% of it's full potential.

Now the interesting part. Stay awhile and listen.

My absolute garbage week however happened in ChainZ Arena, a game that will make a gambler out of anyone, temptations are on every step in that damn game. Basically I gambled 1000 Soul tokens (450$) in a new Dragon Week event which gives you a chance for some rare crypto winings and rare ingame items, when I started rolling I couldn't stop, my brain went fuck it and in 2 minutes I gambled 1000 Soul tokens, loss after loss 1000 Soul gone just like that.

When I realized what I did I went on tilt mode, I sold 5k Steem and bought another 1000 Soul and some EOS for long term hodl. Basically that gamble move made me burn 450$ and made me sell 5k Steem (something I worked for for many years). And devs sneakily made your frozen Soul able to be used for gambling, a dick move I must say if I've ever seen one, devs of this game will prey on your weaknesses big time.

I've never considered myself a gambler nor have I ever gambled such a large sum before (my largest sum before this was 20$ so this was a huge jump some would say), it just happened, something like a car crash, I wasn't thinking straight. That's the danger of gambling, you don't think straight.

That was an extremely dumb move I've made, I don't know what came over me to do something stupid like that. If you ever want to try ChainZ Arena my honest recommendation is to skip it, it is filled with traps, at least 5 ingame modes will make you gamble, just don't do it. After all that I decided to never invest another penny in that game, I will only do what free to play gives me and collect dividends from Soul tokens, basically that gamble move ruined my ROI in that game so now I will need 2-3 months to get out of the hole.

Blockchain games are polarizing, you will get extremely lucky and extremely unlucky, you will not always make smart moves, I'm here so you don't need to learn from your mistakes, try to learn from mine, stay the fuck out of gambling! Sure if I won I would sing a completely different tune, but I lost and there are way more losers than winners, house always wins. Be smart.

DAMN! Golden Spirit Miner was also my first legendary gold. I got it two months ago.

Imagine playing Splinterlands since the game launched and to never find one until now. Percentage of getting a golden legendary is extremely small.

The exact same thing happened to me hahaha, if I'm not mistaken, I'm playing Splinterlands since the third season and I've never gotten a legendary gold or a gold epic, until just this year and almost in the same month. Unbelievable.

Stick to Splinterlands, it's tested and straight! Nice one on the miner, are you keeping it or selling?

Keeping for sure, I have golden lightning dragon I've picked from packs. I like having rare printed cards, blockchain collectible with utility will have a lot of value in the future.

I soooo remember the time i opened a gold legendary and it was the only time .... took sooooo long to get one

Why so rare :)

My favourite game is SPLINTERLANDS, but I was thinking of trying ChainZ Arena too. Do you recommend playing with it? What’s your opinion?
