Hello, Hivers! Another day for a new blog! I hope everyone has a great day!
On a splendid Friday morning, the radiant sun inspired me to capture the moment in a photo.
The inaugural Friday of the year filled me with joy as my husband and son picked me up from school. Before that, various moments contributed to making this Friday truly memorable.
I set aside funds for lunch, anticipating the celebration of three co-teachers' January birthdays. It was customary for the birthday celebrants in our grade level to prepare something special, creating a sense of gratitude and fostering camaraderie among colleagues. This tradition also provided an opportunity for us to come together.
As lunchtime approached, we eagerly descended from the fourth floor to the first floor, where our communal meal awaited.
Check out our menu for today; every dish looked scrumptious, including the addition of red rice. Our celebration kicked off with a prayer, cheerful renditions of birthday songs for the celebrants, and a delightful shared meal.

Honestly, the food surpassed expectations – a solid 10/10 in my book. Upon inquiring, I discovered each food tray cost 1200 pesos, which explained the excellence but also the hefty price. Despite the expense, I left the celebration feeling satisfied, and it seemed everyone else did too.
Post-lunch, we engaged in light conversations and the customary photo session, capturing moments with all the grade 6 teachers.
All the photos used about the birthday celebration were taken by my co-teachers and I asked permission from them.
As dismissal time arrived, I patiently waited for my husband, son, and in-laws amidst heavy traffic.
Our next stop was SM Cebu City for dinner at Kenny Rogers Restaurant, renowned for its grilled offerings.
The restaurant boasted a refreshing and cozy ambiance, complemented by a tidy restroom.
Our menu featured side dishes and the main course – roasted chicken, rice spaghetti, and cold drinks. Though the flavors differed from traditional Filipino cuisine, the food was enjoyable, and reasonably priced, and left us all satisfied.
Post-dinner, we returned to the third floor where we had parked. A stall showcasing Sinulog Festival t-shirts and accessories captured my attention.
With the Sinulog Festival, a prominent religious celebration in Cebu every third Sunday of January in honor of the Child Jesus which is associated with the Catholic title Santo Niño de Cebu, approaching, it added an exciting touch to our day.
It was, indeed, a joyous day for our family. No time is wasted or lost when we are with our family.
