El orgullo representado en hermano •|• Pride represented in brother [Esp/Eng]

Mis padres se separaron y mi mamá al tiempo tuvo una nueva pareja, con la cual construyó un hogar, por un tiempo seguía siendo su única hija hasta que cuando cumplí 12 años me dió la noticia que estaba embarazada, al principio todo fue confuso pues yo estaba acostumbrada a estar sola y de paso estaba pasando el proceso de adolescencia, con los meses me fui haciendo la idea y me enteré que seria un varón al cual llamarían "Marcos".

My parents separated and my mom had a new partner, with whom she built a home, for a while I was still her only daughter until when I turned 12 years old she gave me the news that she was pregnant, at first everything was confusing because I was used to being alone and I was going through the process of adolescence, with the months I was getting the idea and I learned that it would be a boy who would be called “Marcos”.

El día del nacimiento de mi hermano todo fue muy agitado pues no era fecha pautada para la cesárea y recuerdo que mi abuela y mi tía organizaron todo para que mi mamá fuese a la clínica. Luego de unas horas de espera pude conocer a mi hermano, jamás se me olvida que eso fue amor a primera vista, el parecía un muñeco y yo solo quería cargarlo todo el tiempo. La verdad es que el fue un niño muy tranquilo y era fácil de cuidar, por nuestra diferencia de edad nunca hubo discusión por algún objeto material ni esas disputas comunes entre otros hermanos, ambos vivíamos etapas muy diferentes.

The day of my brother's birth everything was very hectic because it was not the scheduled date for the cesarean section and I remember that my grandmother and my aunt organized everything for my mom to go to the clinic. After a few hours of waiting I was able to meet my brother, I will never forget that it was love at first sight, he looked like a doll and I just wanted to hold him all the time. The truth is that he was a very quiet child and was easy to take care of, because of our age difference there was never an argument for any material object or those disputes common among other siblings, we both lived very different stages.

Recuerdo que cuando inicie la universidad el apenas iba a ir al preescolar, ese fue un momento que me marco mucho porque fui con mi mamá acompañarlo, ambas íbamos con la predisposición que iba a llorar y tendríamos que hacerle acompañamiento un rato, para nuestra sorpresa no fue así, el se fue con la maestra y nosotros fuimos las que nos quedamos llorando viendo como se iba de lo más tranquilito, como si para el fuese cotidiano ir a la escuela. Desde el primer día hizo una buena conexión con su maestra, quién luego se convirtió en amiga de mi mamá.

I remember when I started college he was just about to go to preschool, that was a moment that marked me a lot because I went with my mom to accompany him, we both went with the predisposition that he was going to cry and we would have to accompany him for a while, to our surprise it was not so, he went with the teacher and we were the ones who were left crying watching him go as quietly as possible, as if for him it was everyday to go to school. From the first day he made a good connection with his teacher, who later became my mom's friend.

Tengo un sin fin de historias y recuerdos con mi hermano, la verdad todos muy gratos, su promoción de preescolar a primaria, la de primaria a bachillerato, luego a la universidad y ahora una meta que me llena de orgullo la cual es que se graduó de ingeniería en telecomunicaciones, mi corazón se regocija de alegría cuando menciono esto. Se el esfuerzo y sacrificio que tuvo que hacer mi familia en estos tiempos en donde la situación económica del país no esta nada fácil y lograr obtener una carrera universitaria a veces no se vuelve prioridad, pero con apoyo se logró.

I have endless stories and memories with my brother, the truth is all very pleasant, his promotion from preschool to elementary school, from elementary school to high school, then to college and now a goal that fills me with pride which is that he graduated in telecommunications engineering, my heart rejoices with joy when I mention this. I know the effort and sacrifice that my family had to make in these times where the economic situation of the country is not easy and getting a university degree sometimes does not become a priority, but with support we made it.

Está vez lo acompañe a la misa y previa al acto de promoción, una tradición que se realiza en muchas instituciones educativas para fomentar el compromiso ético y espiritual, así recordarles a los graduandos que la formación no es solo académica, que hay que servir con honestidad, solidaridad y justicia. Fui acompañada con mi mamá y mi abuela quienes nos sentimos muy felices de poder ser participes de esa meta alcanzada. Toda la ceremonia estuvo muy bonita y emotiva, tuve que contenerme de llorar varias veces para que mi hermano no me fuera a decir "¿quién se murió?" con el sarcasmo que lo caracteriza.

This time I accompanied him to the mass and before the graduation ceremony, a tradition that is done in many educational institutions to encourage ethical and spiritual commitment, thus reminding the graduates that the training is not only academic, that we must serve with honesty, solidarity and justice. I was accompanied by my mother and my grandmother who were very happy to be able to participate in this goal. The whole ceremony was very beautiful and emotional, I had to stop myself from crying several times so that my brother would not say “who died” with his characteristic sarcasm.

Les cuento que para el acto de graduación solo habían 3 pases, por lo cual fue mi madre, su papá y la novia, así como leen, he sido desplazada por otro amor jajaja ya fuera de juegos me alegra muchísimo que mi hermano se esté formando como profesional y como un buen hombre. Deseo para el un trabajo con un salario digno y que sea feliz ejerciendo su carrera. Hoy me lleno de orgullo de compartir esto con ustedes y de tener un espacio en donde quede plasmado un recuerdo tan importante como este. Quizás en un futuro ya les esté contando cuando sea tía.

I tell you that for the graduation ceremony there were only 3 passes, so it was my mother, his father and the bride, as you read, I have been displaced by another love hahaha and out of games I am very happy that my brother is being formed as a professional and as a good man. I wish him a job with a living wage and that he is happy in his career. Today I am very proud to share this with you and to have a space where a memory as important as this one can be captured. Maybe in the future I will be telling you when I will be an aunt.
