Another Adventure to the Waterfalls for our friend's birthday.

This place at the city of Murcia has been our favorite place recently to unwind. As you know, college life is a stressful one, alongside with it, most of us in the group are working students and that makes it more exhausting to manage. Studying while working has never been easy, it is draining to the point where you can be lost or will be pushed to the edge of your limits. Going here in this place everytime takes all the worries and relaxed our weary minds. That's why we came to love the place and when we find time, we gather to unwind here.

At this time, we went here for Luther's birthday. He was the one who takes care of the Rest House where we often rest at and have sleepover. He lives nearby and a local here in this place, he has been guiding us to discover the wonders of nature here since the first time we knew the place.

At the night of the celebration

We went there after our last class in the afternoon. Since we left at 5pm, we arrived there at evening already, gladly, Luther has a pick-up truck to fetch us all in one go.

Upon arriving and after keeping our things tidy in the room, we were welcomed with foods and karaoke night at his house. They have a lot of visitors there from their church and the others were their relatives from other cities that came there all the way to celebrate his birthday. Some of his childhood friends and highschool batchmates also came. We felt a little shy upon seeing that. Since Luther knew us well, he provided us a table outside where we can only use and separate portion of foods.

A Ghost in the Terrace

I was a little tipsy after dinner because I drink a bottle of Soju. So, we headed back to the house after they sung a few songs in the Karaoke Machine. Before going to sleep, we sat there at the terrace to breath some fresh air and wait for the tipsy feeling to come off a little.

...but these guys are still kids at heart. They have been playing loudly in the room until a ghost ran to hide outside from the others. 😆

Kidding, that was @perssss with his blanket.

New Changes of Russian Resort

After breakfast in the next morning, we walked to the place. Upon arriving, the first thing that I noticed was the signboard with the Rare Fish Hatchery I on it. I'm not sure if I haven't mentioned it in my previous blogs but this place is called the Russian Resort in honor for that Russian guy who lives here and funded the beautification of this place. Supposedly, this place should be a private resort like the others but the river flows in between. So, the guy keep it public and everyone is welcome here to enter for free.

Colorful Rocks, Nurseries and New Bridges

In going to the Waterfalls, we have to follow the river all the way up. Back then, there were still some parts that we need to jump on the steady rocks to cross the river. However, they have already worked on it now and it's now much safer to swim here.

The colorful slope up ahead is the nurseries where they nurture different kinds of plants. Then, they have also built some ponds for the fishes and Lotus flower. Of course, the portion where people can freely swim is still there.

On the way to the next swimming area, my friends saw a vine of ripe Passion Fruits. Since it's okay to take them, they eat some of it and take some with us going to the swimming area.

A newly built diving board!

It's amazing how fast they have constructed a lot of changes in the place for just months. When we first swim here, it was a plain river. Now, they have dug up this portion to make it deeper, so that people can safely dive into he water.

We came here first but later on, a lot of families nearby have arrived to soak into the cold waters and there were children having fun on the diving board. I'm envious of those kids here. They can swim better than me and not even afraid to swim in the deeper part. Now, I'm a little ashamed of my swimming skills. Haha! 🤣

A little hike to the waterfalls...

The improvements on the place didn't stop there at the resort but also to the waterfalls. The shortcut route going there was cleared up. They also built a cemented path on the river side, so that people wouldn't be hopping on the rocks following the river to the other side.

Lo, and Behold... the 7th Waterfalls of Murcia!

IMG_20240908_102838.jpg

This place is always worth the hike. We've been fascinated by it's beauty. Not just that, the surroundings are cool and peaceful. If we could have more time to stay, it would be nice to take a nap under a huge tree near the falls.

We only have a limited time, though. The last trip of the bus here is 5pm, which means we have to go down before that to catch a ride home or else, we're going to have another night for a sleepover.

For the time being, I'd like just to soak my feet in the cold water. It would be also nice to swim but there was a rain that morning. The waters are too cold!

We could only stare at the water, take pictures and enjoy the cold breeze. Anyway, it was still worth the trip. We get to celebrate our friend's birthday, relax and unwind for a while. In another leisure time again, if we can make time.
