Bites And Chatters At The Upper East

Adulting hits different to everybody. When we were teenagers, we can go out anytime we wanted as long as our parents approved. But now that we have our own life without getting permission from our parents, we can't hang out together if each of our schedules wouldn't align with everyone. It's always hard to catch them even if we are all living within the same city. It's like hunting for a Pokemon in the middle of nowhere. Right now, if we want to have a dinner or coffee with everyone in the group, we have to set an appointment with them and this can only be approved twice or thrice a year.

We have to respect everybody's time no matter what. We're now adults dealing with our responsibilities in life, not still teenagers who was up for anything anytime. On one mesmerizing twilight, a meetup was made for that one single announcement that should only be disclose in the inner circle.

The initial meetup place was the McDonald's at the Upper East, but at the last minute, they have changed place. I'm a time-conscious person, so I often go on time to every appointed date. When they told me that the meeting place was changed to another one, I was already on a jeepney and have passed the shortcut to the current meeting place. Thanks to that late notice anyway. I got to see this fascinating view as I jumped off in front of McDonald's and walked to the second meeting place.

It was said that the place is situated near the Landers, at the heart of the Upper East, yet I didn't expected it to be this a breath-catching walk aside from the breathtaking view ahead as I drew near the sunset facing Baywalk's direction. If only an e-bike can roam inside, I should have ride one, unfortunately, they have been prohibited.

I passed with these buildings undergoing constructions. I'm not sure what they are for, maybe for residences or another business establishment since they're trying to expand and transition this area into a metro second to the Downtown or Lacson Street. Business is booming around the city as the government is trying to prove to the people that Bacolod is one of the super city in the Philippines.

Though when you look around, it was far from what they are trying to portray in their reports online and advertisements posted on billboard or in TVs. Maybe it will be anyway, years from now it will come true, I'm even looking forward to it.

I've caught up with my two friends on the way and we walked together to our destination. Briefly following their lead while looking around and taking some photos, just sad that my phone couldn't capture good quality photos during night time. Literally, I've lived here most of my life, but I never have been here before or even got the slightest clue that this place existed. For I've only known the entrance, since we're fond of Sundaes at McDonalds, and has been there a few times, but in here, nada.

The details of this meetup's purpose was the top priority before the food and drinks. I took a snap without minding if it's okay, then carefully listened to the update. Either good or bad news, I'll still go with them in here, whatever it was for. I was elated by the fact that I was included in their inner circle and that I have to know whatever is happening in their lives.

Honestly, back then, I feel like I was only a backup friend whom they only need when one is absent or I'm the only option left for a company. I'm not sure if things have changed or it was my perceptions that changed, but I do feel that I finally belong in our group now. I do have them and I'm not a loner, an outcast, or anything. For that certain reason also, which I can sacrifice some tasks to be with them sometimes.
