Finally Home: A heart warming Surprise for Nanay after Six years.

Hey everyone, it’s me Rhea again! And now I'm back with another story that’s super special to me and it’s all about the surprise we pulled off for my grandmother who I hadn't seen in six years.

So it all started one Saturday afternoon around 6:00 PM my mother told me to get ready for our long trip to her hometown at Camp 7, Minglanilla, and it was going to be about a 5-6 hour drive.

I quickly prepared some clothes and essentials into my bag. As you can see we had big bags because we had planned on staying there for several days.

After packing, we headed off to Fuente, Cebu City. You might be wondering why we stopped there right? Well my aunt told us to meet her at her workplace so she could book us a car to Tabunoc. As we were driving, the rain started to fall. The weather was not that bad but honestly it was calming.

About three hours into our journey, we finally arrived to my aunt’s workplace. The long ride had made me feel a bit nauseous so we bought some cup noodles to settle our stomachs. Nothing beats warm noodles when you’re feeling a little nauseous.

After we finished eating, my aunt arrived. She quickly booked a Maxim car for us to get to Tabunoc. Tabunoc was our next stop, where we’d meet up with my other relatives who would drive us the rest of the way to Camp 7, Minglanilla. At exactly 11:00 PM, we were off again! This ride was much shorter as it only about 20 minutes.

And we finally arrived in Tabunoc. Even though it was 11:00 at night there were still people out there selling food.

Anyway my mother bought some bread for my cousins and of course for nanay (my lola).

Perfect timing! Just as we finished buying the bread, my relatives finally arrived with their car. We quickly hopped in and started the last ride to Camp 7. This ride is long too and it’s about 30 minutes, and again that nauseous feeling started creeping back in.

Finally we arrived at Camp 7 at 12:30 AM. We then walked for about two minutes until we reached my grandmother’s house.

We knocked on her door, and when she woke up and turned on the lights, her reaction was priceless like pure shock. My mother immediately rushed in for a hug. My parents and my grandmother started talking with my nanay asking why we hadn't told her that we were coming. We then spilled the beans that it was all a big surprise for her upcoming birthday.

While they were talking, I saw their cat! I’m not sure what breed it is but seriously look how cute he is.

That’s all for today’s blog, everyone! Thanks for reading along.

In such a situation, we should take some time out of our busy schedule and spend some time with our loved ones. This not only helps us learn about them, but we can also get to know each other better.
