How’s life lately? Today, I felt so delighted to share a blog about my grandmother’s 60th Birthday. To those who know me, they definitely know that my grandma is one of the precious person I have in my life because I am someone who grew up from a grandparents love.

Just recently, we celebrated her 60th birthday and I can say, this is an extra-ordinary day because some of my distant cousins personally went home in our town just to celebrate with her so all of us making it’s own effort to make this day extra special. Early in the morning, as my grandma woke up, I can really see in her face the excitement and happiness she felt while looking at us being busy decorating and arranging inside the house.

We just ordered a food package and a lechon baboy for her birthday and we just wanted an intimate celebration since we don’t have a spacious place in the apartment that we rented. By the way, I forgot if had mentioned before but my grandmother was already paralyzed since 2019 that was caused by a heart attack and sadly up until now, she cannot speak and cannot walk. Looking back by the time it happed to her, we are all devasted by the news to what happened to her because we all think she doesn’t deserve it because my grandmother is a hardworking and a loving person. But we never ever gave up with our prayers for her healing and we just wished her happiness in life.

There is this one time that my mind was occupied with random thoughts about myself like 40-50 years from now if what life could be? I really wished that the life I could have many years from now is something that I could be proud of, but what makes our life fulfilled? Because while looking at my grandmother makes me sad for the reason that I know for sure that she still want to do something in life. It even breaks our heart when we sometimes witnessed her crying silently at night and every time we check on her, she couldn’t even expressed her self since she cannot speak or write due to her physical illness. We sometimes couldn’t answer ourselves to our own questions in life but all I can say is, live life to the fullest.

In my grandmother’s 60th Birthday was full of delightfulness as we celebrate it with the whole family and we really enjoyed the food specially the seafood because that is one of my favorite dish in every occasions. As the day went on, some of my cousins are singing karaoke and the kids are dancing in the living room. And we had fun taking pictures of course because this could be one of the memorabilia as years go by. Aside from that, I appreciate my grandpa who always there taking good care of his wife for better or for worst. I know that he is also a senior citizen but he never gets tired taking care of her.

We are just living simply in life and we could only afford simple things in life practically but when it comes to our grandparents we always make sure to make the best effort out of it. Nothing extravagant celebrations but we always exert the best for them. No matter what, we will always do our best to make our grandparents feel treasured, because they have given us so much love and wisdom throughout our lives. They deserve nothing but the best from us.

To my fellow hiver’s, we all know that life is short so we make most out of it. This will serve as a reminder to give much more attention to our parents or grandparents because they are no longer getting young in life and tomorrow cannot be predict so, we should always make sure to give them surprises or a little flower can make them smile even without a special occasion. There are various ways to make time for them, like watching movies together, cook them their favorite food, or listening to their favorite music. I know for sure that every small gesture can make them happy.
