Our third day in Bantayan Island brought us to Anika Resort, a place we had visited before but this time with a twist—it was our first time there with Zadie. The resort had changed since our last visit. Back then, there was no pool, but now they had a huge one, making it even more inviting. We were excited to explore and make the most of our stay.
Anika’s beachfront and serene ambiance were just as beautiful as we remembered. We settled in and started planning how to spend the day. Zadie was excited too, and we were looking forward to enjoying some pool time with her.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. Zadie started feeling unwell and kept vomiting. It broke my heart to see her like that, and I knew we couldn’t stay any longer. Dehydration was a risk I wasn’t willing to take, so we made the difficult decision to leave and head back to the city for her safety.
Although our stay at Anika was cut short, I’m still grateful for the trip as a whole. The earlier days gave us moments of laughter, exploration, and relaxation. It was also a much-needed break for my husband, who has been working so hard all year. Seeing him unwind, even for a short while, was priceless.
Life doesn’t always go according to plan, but I choose to focus on the positives. This trip reminded me of the importance of family time, even when things don’t turn out perfectly.
We’ll be back someday, and hopefully, we’ll get to enjoy everything Anika Resort now has to offer—especially that big pool Zadie was looking forward to trying. For now, we’re focusing on getting her back to her happy, bubbly self.
