Hoy quiero compartirles esta linda experiencia de hace algunos meses, sobre los gratos momentos que pasamos con el sobrino de mi esposo, que vino de la Isla de Margarita para un campeonato de Baloncesto, (Básquetbol).
Today I want to share with you this lovely experience from a few months ago, about the pleasant moments we spent with my husband's nephew, who came from Margarita Island for a basketball championship.
Esta actividad se llevó a cabo en el Gimnasio Cubierto de la ciudad de Cumaná, estado Sucre, con representaciones de los estados participantes del oriente del país, tales, como: el estado Monagas, el estado Bolívar, el estado Nueva Esparta y el estado Sucre. Estos intercambios se realizan con la idea de mediar con otros compañeros y jugadores de otras ciudades y medir el potencial de cada uno de ellos. De igual forma, que se sientan comprometidos al practicar este deporte.
This activity took place at the Indoor Gymnasium in the city of Cumaná, Sucre state, with representatives from participating states in the east of the country, such as Monagas, Bolívar, Nueva Esparta, and Sucre. These exchanges are carried out with the aim of interacting with other teammates and players from other cities and assessing each player's potential. Similarly, they feel committed to practicing this sport.
Al encontrarnos en el gimnasio, me dio mucha emoción ver llegar a todas las delegaciones participantes de los estados invitados. Cada estado trajo sus barras y comisiones en apoyo a cada grupo, estos trajeron pitos, panderetas, tambores, globos y otros para animar el juego. Todos los equipos participantes se veían muy entusiasmados, las caras de todos los participantes en general y los familiares que los acompañaban estaban muy alegres y llenos de felicidad. Sin embargo, también se notaba algo de tensión en mi sobrino y en algunos jugadores.
When we met at the gym, I was very excited to see all the participating delegations from the invited states arrive. Each state brought their cheerleaders and supporters to cheer on each group, bringing whistles, tambourines, drums, balloons, and other items to liven up the game. All the participating teams looked very enthusiastic, and the faces of all the participants in general and the family members who accompanied them were very cheerful and full of happiness. However, there was also some tension noticeable in my nephew and some of the players.
El campeonato inició con el estado Bolívar, el cual hizo su entrada magistral. Las edades de los participantes oscilaban entre 10 y 14 años de edad. Mi sobrino, para ese momento, acababa de cumplir 14. Él nos refiere que se siente identificado con este deporte porque lo practica desde los 8 años, por lo cual expresa su interacción y su compromiso con él mismo. Les dice a sus padres que es su deporte favorito.
The championship began with Bolívar state, which made a grand entrance. The participants ranged in age from 10 to 14. My nephew had just turned 14 at the time. He tells us that he identifies with this sport because he has been playing it since he was 8, which is why he expresses his interaction and commitment to it. He tells his parents that it is his favorite sport.
Después de haber finalizado el evento se dio como ganador al estado Bolívar y Nueva Esparta quedo en segundo lugar. Luego de este veredicto nos reunimos con todos los familiares y jugadores a celebrar el triunfo e hicimos un compartir, con pasapalos, refrescos y golosinas. Asimismo, entre alegrías y tertulias nos sentamos a escuchar todos las anécdotas de los compañeros y familias.
After the event ended, Bolívar was declared the winner and Nueva Esparta came in second place. Following this verdict, we gathered with all the family members and players to celebrate the victory and shared snacks, soft drinks, and sweets. Amidst the joy and conversation, we sat down to listen to all the stories from our teammates and families.
