EXPERIENCES DURING SPORTSFEST AT NAGA SHS

Hi hivers, and good day! Welcome back to my blog, and today I want to share with you guys the challenges I faced when I was chosen to be the STEM representative at Sportsfest 2023.

We all know that joining competitions, especially in school, is very challenging, and it makes you nervous when you think that the competitions are already coming.
As a STEM representative,it gives me a lot of pressure because I always think negatively when the competition is about to begin, like there are two days left before the event, and it makes me nervous because I always look down on myself and compare myself to other representatives, which is not good. It also gives me a lot of pressure because, out of the 3 sections in STEM, where each section consists of 40 or more students,I am the one that they chose to be the representative, and I was scared and had many what-ifs in my mind.

Time goes by so fast, and it's a pictorial day.

My one teacher told me that she would be the one who would make me more beautiful this picture day.She is a very supportive teacher. And one of my classmates helped her straighten my hair because my hair is very thick and long, and she knew that it would take so much time. That’s why she needed some help.
She is good at makeup, but I think the way she makes it does not fit my face because her product is not my shade because I am whiter than her.
When she told me to get some mirrors to see if I was satisfied with my make-up,I was speechless. You know why? Its because my lipstick is color violet and it looks like I’m a dead person, but I thanked her for the effort and went directly to Cr and cried.

But I really thanked my friend that time because they always cheered me up, especially my friend who straightened my hair,she did retouch my face, and it looked better.

To be honest,my mood at that time was very low, but my adviser and friends accompanied me, and it gave me a confident boost.

NOVEMBER 24,2023
(The most anticipated day because it is sportsfest day.)

My classmates and my adviser plan to hire a make-up artist for the last and final day, and I have a friend of mine who knows make-up very well.
So this is my face when they do my hair and make-up.

And here's the final look, and they took some pictures because they will post them on their page.

The event is about to start at 3:30 p.m., which is why all candidates are gathered outside to be ready. While we are outside, it's raining but not too heavy, and thanks to my very supportive friend,she came to me and brought some umbrella so that my makeup wouldn’t melt.

And here we go. The event has started, and we do some production numbers and introduce ourselves. By the way, I am candidate number 2.

When I’m about to go to the mic,I always make myself stop overthinking and just enjoy the moment.
So here we go.

It’s time for my introduction, and I remember that my introduction saying goes like this
“Gold aren’t really made of metals,they’re made from sweat,determination,and a hard to find metal called guts.”

After all the introductions, it's time to retouch for the next show, which is sportswear, but before continuing the event,our adviser and my classmate,@keith-allen15, are performing a contemporary dance.

My sport is tennis because it is easy to find some attire, and I have a rocket in tennis because my papa is a player, so it is not hard for me to find a rocket.

And after that,we are all gathered to announce some minor awards, which are the “BEST IN PRODUCTION NUMBER,BEST IN SPORTWEAR,MS. PHOTOGENIC, SOCIAL MEDIA CHOICE,” and, thankfully,I got the best in production number.

After giving the major awards, it was time for the awaited one, which was to test the brains of the candidates. As I watched my video,this is the question that I answered.
How can you encourage SHS students to balance screen time with physical fitness?
As a student, I will encourage them by creating opportunities for students and continuing to advocate for sports. By telling my fellow students the importsnce and the benefits of sports physically and mentslly. With this action, they are more motivated and they will gain the confidence carrying a positive mindset leading to their better future.

And as the candidates had all answered,we gathered again to announce the winner of Ms. . Sportsfest 2023, and I was speechless when my name was called as the winner of Ms. Sportsfest 2023.

All my efforts were eventually rewarded,and I would like to thank my friends and classmates for the support that they have given, and to our adviser, who is very jolly and has good vibes. He is the one who told me that “experience is the best teacher,” and during the pictorial,she always boosts my confidence by telling me, “YOU’RE SO PRETTY, SO DON’T CRY.”.

That’s why we will always remember to don’t look down on yourself because others have trust in you, so we should trust ourselves first.Change the negative feelings into positive ones, and we should always remember that we only live once, so enjoy and take the risk or lose the chance, and I always put into my mind what my adage says: “EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER.”.
