La Navidad, época infalible que nos conduce a estar en permanente modo alegre, familiar, amoroso, nostálgico y festivo. Llega de nuevo y, como se ha hecho costumbre en Venezuela, toca nuestras puertas de manera anticipada desde el mes de noviembre, quizás para complacer nuestros deseos de prolongar su estancia el mayor tiempo posible.
De manera que aquí la tenemos de nuevo, llegó casi sin que me diera cuenta y es qué, este 2023 ha corrido tan rápido que en un santiamén ya está finalizando. Ahora toca la reflexión de lo que hicimos y dejamos de hacer, de emprender nuevas acciones, de corregir lo que haya que corregir y seguir adelante otra vez.
Christmas, a time of year that always leads us to be in a permanent state of happiness, family, love, nostalgia and festivity. It comes back again and, as has become customary in Venezuela, it knocks on our doors as early as November, perhaps to please our desires to prolong its stay as much as possible.
So here we have it again, it arrived almost without me realizing it and that's it, 2023 has flown so fast that in no time at all it is already ending. Now it's time to reflect on what we did and stopped doing, to take new actions, to correct what needs to be corrected and move forward again.
Hoy les quiero mostrar cómo mi familia se activó en la Navidad con la visita de dos eventos navideños que oficialmente se han iniciado en Caracas. Uno de ellos fue el encendido navideño de la plaza Bolívar de El Hatillo y el otro "Nocturneando", un evento tradicional en el aniversario de Chacao y que ahora se estrena en ese municipio con motivo de la Navidad. Cabe destacar que ambos son municipios pertenecientes al estado Miranda de Venezuela y reconocidos como parte de la ciudad de Caracas, aunque no sean propiamente municipios de esta ciudad capital.
Today I want to show you how my family got into the Christmas spirit by attending two Christmas events that have officially kicked off in Caracas. One of them was the lighting of the Christmas tree in the Bolívar square in El Hatillo and the other was "Nocturneando", a traditional event on the anniversary of Chacao that is now debuting in that municipality in honor of Christmas. It is worth mentioning that both are municipalities belonging to the state of Miranda in Venezuela and recognized as part of the city of Caracas, even though they are not technically municipalities of this capital city.
Comienzo con describirles la visita a El Hatillo, cuando llegamos no podíamos creer lo que nuestros ojos veían, el pueblo estaba a reventar de gente, textualmente allí ya no cabía ni un alfiler, por primera vez veíamos al pueblo tan lleno. Aquello se sentía rarísimo, acostumbrados a la tranquilidad de ese lugar, ahora nos daba la impresión de que estábamos en otra parte, casi no podíamos ni caminar. Por un momento hasta nos incomodó sentir ese cambio tan extremo.
I'll start by describing our visit to El Hatillo. When we got there, we couldn't believe our eyes. The town was packed with people. Literally, there wasn't even room for a pin. It was the first time we'd seen the town so full. It felt very strange, coming from the tranquility of that place, now it felt like we were in another place. We could hardly walk. For a moment, we were even uncomfortable with such a drastic change.
En fin, recorrimos las calles del pueblo de El Hatillo, disfrutamos del alumbrado y decorado navideño, paseamos por la plaza y recorrimos el Bulevar Bolívar, que funciona en un tramo de la calle del mismo nombre que durante todos los viernes y sábados en la noche es cerrada el tránsito vehicular, dando paso a que los negocios que quedan allí, en su mayoría restaurantes ocupen ese espacio con sus mesas y sillas. Es una experiencia muy agradable y fuera de lo común. Para finalizar nuestro paseo nos comimos unos ricos helados y nos fuimos hasta el Centro Comercial Paseo El Hatillo, donde también aprovechamos para tomarnos algunas fotografías junto al tradicional árbol navideño.
We walked the streets of the town of El Hatillo, enjoyed the lighting and Christmas decorations, strolled through the square and walked along Bolívar Boulevard, which runs on a stretch of the street of the same name that every Friday and Saturday night is closed to vehicular traffic, giving way to businesses that are there, mostly restaurants occupy that space with their tables and chairs. It is a very pleasant and out of the ordinary experience. To finish our walk we ate some delicious ice cream and went to the Paseo El Hatillo Shopping Center, where we also took some pictures with the traditional Christmas tree.
El otro paseo fue al "Nocturneando", este es un evento que se realiza regularmente para festejar en la fecha aniversaria del municipio Chacao y que este año por primera vez se realiza con motivo de la Navidad. Consiste en habilitar varias calles para colocar algunas tarimas y distintas atracciones para que la gente recorra el sitio y pueda disfrutar de una noche distinta.
En esta oportunidad el evento chacaoense, se realizó en la urbanización Los Palos Grandes, así que hasta allá fuimos y fue una experiencia muy placentera, recorrimos a pie varias calles, en las cuales pudimos disfrutar de muchas atracciones y espectáculos musicales tanto en tarimas como en diversos puntos a lo largo de las calles. Pudimos ver desde violinistas, folkloristas, salseros, hasta bailarinas árabes. Así como presentaciones estelares como el show de Betsaida Machado y la parranda de El Clavo, Betulio Medina, Maracaibo 15 y Oscarcito, aunque a estos dos últimos no los pudimos verlos debido a que estábamos agotados y nos tuvimos que retirar antes de que ellos se presentaran, pues eran los encargados del gran cierre del evento.
The other walk was to "Nocturneando", this is an event that is regularly held to celebrate the anniversary of the municipality of Chacao and that this year for the first time is held on the occasion of Christmas. It consists of enabling several streets to place some stages and different attractions so that people can tour the site and enjoy a different night.
On this occasion, the Chacao event was held in the Los Palos Grandes urbanization, so we went there and it was a very pleasant experience, we walked through several streets, in which we were able to enjoy many attractions and musical shows both on stages and in various points along the streets. We could see from violinists, folklorists, salsa dancers, to Arab dancers. As well as stellar presentations such as the Betsaida Machado show and the El Clavo, Betulio Medina, Maracaibo 15 and Oscarcito party, although we could not see the last two because we were exhausted and we had to leave before they presented themselves, since they were in charge of the great closing of the event.
En Chacao, tambien vimos creativos puestos de venta de comidas y bebidas.Por otra parte también había exbiciones de carros y motocicletas, que podrán apreciar en algunas de las fotografías que pude tomar en el sitio.
In Chacao, we also saw creative food and drink stalls. On the other hand, there were also car and motorcycle exhibitions, which you can see in some of the photographs I took on the site.
De esta forma iniciamos nuestro periodo familiar navideño año 2023, un año que estuvo un tanto complicado para nuestra familia, por diversos contratiempos económicos y de salud, situación que afrontamos y que gracias a nuestra unión y fraternidad familiar, pudimos sobre llevar, a pesar de que aún no hemos salido de ello, tenemos fe de que pronto todo solo será parte de un recuerdo y de una experiencia de la que saldremos fortalecidos, como siempre lo hemos hecho.
In this way we began our family Christmas period in 2023, a year that was somewhat complicated for our family, due to various economic and health setbacks, a situation that we faced and that thanks to our unity and family fraternity, we were able to cope, despite Since we have not yet come out of it, we have faith that soon everything will only be part of a memory and an experience from which we will emerge stronger, as we have always done.
