Memories-Memorias [ENG-ESP]

One comes into the world defenseless, without clothes, without knowing how to communicate, without knowledge and without money. Each of these things are an essential part of surviving in this world called earth. When we arrive, if we are lucky, we first meet our mother and then that nucleus of which you will become a reflection in your life. It is thanks to them that we manage to take our first steps as individuals and acquire the tools that they transmit to us.

Uno viene al mundo indefenso, sin ropas, sin saber comunicarnos, sin conocimientos y sin dinero. Cada una de estas cosas son parte imprescindible para sobrevivir en este mundo llamado tierra. Al llegar, si tenemos suerte, conocemos primeramente a nuestra madre y luego a ese núcleo del cual pasaras a ser reflejo en tu vida. Gracias a ellos es que logramos dar nuestros primeros pasos como individuos y adquirimos las herramientas que ellos nos transmiten.

Grandparents are an indispensable part of our link, those heroes without layers form us as a person. On my very personal side, I only knew my maternal grandfather. Unfortunately, as time goes by, some of them are no longer with us, taking a journey that no one knows exactly what awaits us. I want to allude to the one I have always considered a great example to follow.

Los abuelos conforman una parte imprescindible de nuestro eslabón, esos héroes sin capas nos forman como persona. En mi parte muy personal solo conocí a mi abuelo materno. Desgraciada mente con el paso del tiempo algunos dejan de estar con nosotros, tomando un viaje del cual nadie sabe a ciencia exacta que nos espera. Quiero hacer alusión a aquel que siempre he considerado un gran ejemplo a seguir.

My grandfather was someone of many values, with a quiet voice but strong in character, his hair was semi-long grayish white, I remember he was always surrounded by animals and smiling people. As a child he lost his parents and was raised in a foster family, learning from a young age values such as humility, the importance of having one's own, work and helping each other, all these values were what created a family like the one I can proudly say I have today. I always think that I would have loved to have spent more time with him and that he would have known me in this adult version that he started with my parents, to be able to receive his advice and care again would be an experience that I would like my children to have the pleasure of receiving when they are born. From him I keep his love for animals, his feeling of helping and doing good for others.

Mi abuelo era alguien de muchos valores, de una voz tranquila pero fuerte en carácter, su pelo era semi largo de color blanco grisoso, recuerdo que siempre estaba rodeado de animales y personas sonriendo. De niño perdió a sus padres y fue criado en una familia adoptiva, aprendiendo de joven valores como la humildad, la importancia de tener lo propio, del trabajo y de ayudarse entre los humanos, todos estos valores fueron los que crearon una familia como la que orgullosamente puedo decir que hoy tengo. Siempre me quedo pensando que me hubiera encantado poder haber pasado más tiempo con él y que me hubiera conocido en esta versión adulta que el mismo inicio junto a mis padres, poder recibir de nuevo sus consejos y cuidados sería una experiencia que quisiera que mis hijos cuando nazcan tengan el placer de recibir. De él guardo su amor por los animales, su sentir de ayudar y de hacer el bien con los demás.

He kept with joy those outings on his shoulders or holding hands, his way of giving love was tied to a time very different from ours where it did not matter to look into the eyes and say I love you or give a hug and spoil others, without being misinterpreted.

Guardo con alegría aquellas salidas sobre sus hombros o tomado de la mano, su forma de dar amor estaba atada a una época muy diferente a la nuestra donde no importaba mirar a los ojos y decir te quiero o dar un abrazo y consentir a los demás, sin que fuera interpretado erróneo.

Grandparents are definitely a pillar that should not be left aside, they are not a disposable object therefore we should give them the importance they truly have. Retribution for all they did to found a family and take it forward. They are a bridge to past times, they carry the history, customs and are from our family who have lived the most, so in them you will find a source of wisdom and as a friend of mine would say the sweetness of life. They understand criteria that even we do not, such as what is love, time and where is true happiness.

Definitivamente los abuelos son un pilar que no hay que dejar a un lado, ellos no son un objeto desechable por ende deberíamos darle la importancia que verdaderamente tienen. Retribuir todo lo que hicieron por fundar una familia y sacarla adelante. Ellos son un puente a los tiempos pasados, cargan con la historia, costumbres y son de nuestra familia quienes más han vivido, por lo que en ellos encontraras una fuente de sabiduría y como diría un amigo mio las mieles de la vida. Ellos entienden criterios que aun nosotros no, como que es el amor, el tiempo y donde está la verdadera felicidad.

I wanted to pay tribute to my grandparents and yours. Each one of us has very personal memories that will transport you along the road we have traveled. Mine is in childhood, a childhood that I am very grateful to have shared with him. I hope that when the time comes I can become the quality of grandfather that he was.

Quería hacer un homenaje a mis abuelos y a los de ustedes. Cada uno de nosotros guarda recuerdos muy personales que los transportara por el camino recorrido. El mío es en la niñez, niñez que estoy muy agradecido de haberla compartido con él. Espero que llegado el momento yo pueda llegar a convertirme en la calidad de abuelo que fue él.
