Saludos a todos los Hivers, en especial a la familia de la comunidad Family&Friends! en esta publicación les comparto la experiencia de disfrutar un día especial a propósito de finalización de las vacaciones junto a unos seres muy muy queridos!
Ya se acerca el inicio de un nuevo año escolar en Venezuela y han sido pocas actividades en familia que hemos podido realizar estas vacaciones, bien sea por el bajo presupuesto o por el trabajo de mi esposo. Así que desde hace una semana cuando me enteré que el hijo de una amiga estuvo en el Parque Las Cuevas del Indio en Caracas, le comenté a mi comadre sobre este paseo, ya que como todos los años, ella junto a su esposo, sus dos niños y nosotros (yo, mi esposo y mi hijo) realizamos un paseo para encontrarnos durante las vacaciones.
Greetings to all Hivers, especially to the family of the Family&Friends community! In this post I share with you the experience of enjoying a special day at the end of the vacations with some very dear ones!
The start of a new school year school in Venezuela is approaching and there have been few family activities that we have been able to do this vacation, either because of the low budget or because of my husband's work. So, a week ago when I found out that a friend's son was in Las Cuevas del Indio Park in Caracas, I told my comadre about this trip, since like every year, she and her husband, her two children and us (me, my husband and my son) go on a trip to meet each other during the vacations.
Este año mi comadre y yo habíamos estado buscando algo ideal para todos y no lográbamos encontrar el destino que mejor se adaptara a lo que queríamos, así que decidí preguntarle a mi amiga como había logrado ir a “Las Cuevas” y ella muy amablemente me explicó que su hermana trabaja en el Instituto Nacional de Parques y me contactó con la persona que nos daría la información sobre el paseo, llamé y me informaron sobre el horario, costos y datos generales del paseo.
This year my comadre and I had been looking for something ideal for all of us and we could not find the destination that best suited what we wanted, so I decided to ask my friend how she had managed to go to "Las Cuevas" and she very kindly explained that her sister works at the National Parks Institute and contacted me with the person who would give us the information about the tour, I called and they informed me about the schedule, costs and general information about the tour.
Acordamos ir hace dos domingos y planificamos para ir mis compadres con sus niños y este año se unió mi hermana @marielarc07. Existía sólo una preocupación y era que el menor de los niños cuenta apenas con 3 años y no sabíamos si iba a poder cumplir con el recorrido dado el nivel de dificultad de las cuevas.
We agreed to go two Sundays ago and planned to go with my compadres and their children and this year my sister @marielarc07 joined us. There was only one concern and that was that the youngest of the children is only 3 years old and we did not know if he would be able to complete the tour given the level of difficulty of the caves.
Llegado el día nos encontramos en casa de mi mamá y subimos hacia La Guairita, entrando al Parque nos recibió un amable Guía quien nos explicó que existen dos cuevas: El Indio, la cual es más alejada, por lo que el recorrido a pie podría ser más pesado para los niños y la otra es la cueva Pío, la cual se sitúa cerca de la entrada del parque pero el nivel de dificultad es mayor. Nos recomendó que nos quedáramos en Pío y así lo hicimos.
Upon entering the park we were greeted by a friendly guide who explained to us that there are two caves: El Indio, which is further away, so the walking tour could be more difficult for children, and the other is the Pio cave, which is located near the entrance of the park but the level of difficulty is higher. He recommended that we stay in Pío and we did.
Iniciamos la aventura y para nuestra sorpresa los tres niños encabezaban la columna junto al guía.
We started the adventure and to our surprise the three children headed the column together with the guide.
Al llegar a la entrada de la cueva quedamos sorprendidos de lo pequeña que era y aún llenos de duda y hasta un poco de temor por la reacción que pudiesen tener los pequeños nos tomamos esta foto y decidimos entrar.
When we arrived at the entrance of the cave we were surprised at how small it was and still full of doubt and even a little fear for the reaction that the little ones might have, we took this picture and decided to enter.
Mi compadre iba encabezando la excursión, luego cada uno de los niños seguido por un adulto. Estaba todo muy oscuro, encendimos las linternas, había mucho polvo y el camino se tornaba cada vez más angosto al punto en que en muchos lugares teníamos que pasar arrastrados en el suelo, mi compadre sufrió una especie de ataque de pánico y tuvo que detenerse a descansar, sin embargo al ver a los pequeños de 3, 7 y 11 años cruzando sin problemas, mi comadre, mi esposo y yo lo animamos a continuar, él se incorporó y continuamos la travesía.
My compadre was leading the excursion, then each of the children followed by an adult. It was very dark, we turned on the flashlights, there was a lot of dust and the road became narrower and narrower to the point that in many places we had to crawl on the ground, my compadre suffered a kind of panic attack and had to stop to rest, but seeing the little ones of 3, 7 and 11 years crossing without problems, my compadre, my husband and I encouraged him to continue, he joined us and we continued the journey.
Cada uno estaba viviendo su experiencia, los niños se sentían grandes, eran nuestros guías! Mi hijo de 11 años el líder, el más pequeño tomó su linterna y quería ir siempre sólo, la niña de 7 años toda una guerrera sin miedo a la oscuridad cumplía el recorrido sonriente. Los adultos nos sentíamos como niños, mi esposo particularmente agradeció la experiencia ya que le permitió liberar mucho estrés, mi hermana súper emocionada tomando fotos y siempre pendiente de todos, mi comadre y yo a pesar de que éramos las más lentas nos reíamos y cumplimos con todo el recorrido felizmente. Les puedo asegurar que todo transcurrió en medio de charlas interesantes con el guía, cansancio pero sobre todo muchas risas y fotografías divertidas.
Everyone was living their own experience, the children felt great, they were our guides! My 11 year old son was the leader, the youngest took his flashlight and always wanted to go alone, the 7 year old girl was a warrior without fear of the dark, she was always smiling. We adults felt like children, my husband particularly appreciated the experience because it allowed him to release a lot of stress, my sister was super excited taking pictures and always looking out for everyone, my comadre and I even though we were the slowest we laughed and we completed the whole tour happily. I can assure you that everything took place in the midst of interesting talks with the guide, tiredness but above all lots of laughter and fun pictures.
Después de casi una hora, salimos de la cueva y continuábamos riéndonos al vernos con la ropa sucia, raspones en los codos, moraditos en las rodillas, sedientos y cansados.
After almost an hour, we came out of the cave and continued laughing as we saw each other with dirty clothes, scrapes on our elbows, bruises on our knees, thirsty and tired.
Seguidamente nos sentamos en los alrededores del parque en una especie de quiosco, allí nos hidratamos, comimos frutas que habíamos llevado, mi hermana, mis compadres, mi esposo y yo nos sumergimos en una buena charla que duró cerca de una hora, mientras los pequeños continuaban haciendo de las suyas.
Then we sat around the park in a kind of kiosk, there we hydrated ourselves, ate fruits that we had brought, my sister, my compadres, my husband and I immersed ourselves in a good chat that lasted about an hour, while the little ones continued to do their thing.
Nos retiramos del parque y fuimos por unos merecidos helados en el Parque del Este, donde estuvimos un rato más disfrutando de la compañía, creo que realmente no queríamos despedirnos todavía...
We left the park and went for some well-deserved ice cream at Parque del Este, where we spent some more time enjoying the company, I guess we really didn't want to say goodbye yet...
Esta experiencia sirvió para poner a prueba cosas como la camaradería, el trabajo en equipo, condiciones físicas y lo más importante fue que sirvió para reforzar la conexión de la familia, la cual a veces se ve afectada por las ocupaciones y obligaciones de cada quien, al punto de que resulta difícil realizar encuentros como este. Sin embargo, estoy segura que éste corto y sencillo paseo nos va a recordar que con ganas y mucho amor siempre habrá un domingo para dedicar a la familia y a los amigos.
This experience served to test things like camaraderie, teamwork, physical conditions and most importantly, it served to strengthen the family connection, which sometimes is affected by the occupations and obligations of each person, to the point that it is difficult to make meetings like this. However, I am sure that this short and simple walk will remind us that with desire and a lot of love there will always be a Sunday to dedicate to family and friends.
