Hello friends of Hive and @home.solutions, I hope everyone is doing great. Today I want to tell you how I rescued the internal water dispenser of our Whirpool refrigerator that had been damaged and I have already got it working again.

Hola amigos de Hive y @home.solutions, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien. Hoy les quiero contar cómo rescaté el dispensador de agua interno de nuestra nevera Whirpool que se había dañado y ya lo he puesto a funcionar nuevamente.
This is a manual dispenser that comes with the refrigerator, a small water tank that is not filled automatically, but you have to remove the container, fill it, and put it back. What I like about the dispenser is that it saves space in the fridge because instead of having two jugs for water we only use one, and if you need more space you just use the dispenser.
It turns out that one day it stopped working, I set out to check it and I realized that the hook of the mechanism that opens the faucet so that water comes out of the dispenser had broken, and when one pressed the button to get the water out, it unhooked and did not do its function, at that moment I put crazy glue, but the hook makes a lot of effort and when using it 5 or 6 times it came off, so I had given it up for lost.

Este es un dispensador manual que trae la nevera, un pequeño depósito de agua que no se llena de forma automática, sino que hay que retirar el envase llenarlo, y colocarlo nuevamente. Lo que me gusta del dispensador es que ahorra espacio en la nevera porque en vez de tener dos jarras para el agua solamente usamos una, y si se necesita más espacio solo se usa el dispensador.
Resulta que un día dejó funcionar, me dispuse a revisarlo y me dí cuenta que el gancho del mecanismo que hace abrir el grifo para que salga agua del dispensador se había partido, y cuando uno presionaba el botón para que saliera el agua este se desengancha y no hacía su función, en ese momento le coloque pega loca, pero el gancho hace mucho esfuerzo y al usarlo 5 o 6 veces está se despegaba así que lo había dado por perdido.
But then, these days in the tool deposit of my parents' house I got a plastic faucet that is used in thermos or water dispensers and I realized that I could use it to replace the water dispenser of the refrigerator because the mechanism was quite similar but not the same.
So I took the faucet and looked for the diapenser that luckily I had not thrown it away, then I presented the piece to see if it could really work, and yes, the faucet could fit perfectly through the hole of the dispenser, so I started to disassemble the mechanism of the old faucet, and to do so I used a pliers to unscrew the nut and I was doing it very carefully, because it was very hard and I was afraid that it would hit the water container and it could break.

Pero entonces, en estos días en el depósito de herramientas de la casa de mis padres conseguí un grifo de plástico que se usa en termos o dispensadores de agua y me percate que me podía servir para sustituir la del dispensador de agua de la nevera porque el mecanismo era bastante parecido aunque no igual.
Así que me lleve el grifo y busqué el diapensador que menos mal no lo habia botado, entinces presenté la pieza para ver si realmente podía funcionar, y sí, el grifo podía entrar perfectamente por el orificio del dispensador, así que me puse a desarmar el mecanismo del grifo viejo, y para hacerlo usé una pinza para desenroscar la tuerca y lo estaba haciendo con mucho cuidado, porque estaba muy dura y me daba miedo que fuese a golpear el contenedor del agua y este se pudiera partir.
Trying to turn the nut it broke, but I did not worry because the faucet that I was going to replace had one, so with the same pliers I was breaking the nut until I removed it completely, and what I had left was to replace the faucet, I put the rubber bands that came with the dispenser, then I screwed the nut and tightened it very carefully.
Then what I did was to put water in the dispenser and verify that it had no leaks, thank God it was fine, and ready, I washed it very well with water and detergent, then with hot water, and placed it inside the refrigerator to start using it again.

Tratando de girar la tuerca esta se me parte, pero no me preocupe porque la llave que iba a sustituir traía una, así que con la misma pinza fui partiendo la tuerca hasta que la retire por completo, ya lo que me quedo fue sustituir el grifo, le coloque las gomas que traía el dispensador, luego enrosqué la tuerca y la apreté con mucho cuidado.
Luego lo que hice fue colocarle agua al dispensador y verificar que no tuviera alguna filtración, gracias a Dios que quedó bien, y listo, lo lavé muy bien con agua y detergente, luego con agua caliente, y lo coloqué dentro de la nevera para empezar a usarlo nuevamente.
Y bueno mis amigos, quise compartir esta experiencia con ustedes por que son cosas que nos pueden ayudar en casa. Saludos y hasta otra oportunidad.

Excelente que lo hayas podido arreglar amigo José y sobretodo como tú dices ahorra espacio en la nevera. Aquí en casa la nevera también tiene dispensador de agua y hielo, Pero cuando empezó todo este rollo del racionamiento de agua, se dejó de usar pues traemos agua de pozo y esa agua a pesar de que es tratada si sabe feo, así que no se usa. Aunque me encantaría volverle a dar uso. Gracias por compartir amigo. Saludos
