We're always the first to talk down on ourselves, insecurities get a hold of us making you feel less. We have that one thing or more that makes us feel inferior and self sabotage, could be body shape, a speaking factor, constant failing at set goals, some reflex actions, a particular behaviour, a habit and so on. We often criticize people for highlighting our one bad out of ninety nine good deeds unaware we do same to ourselves. When these saddening thought comes, we forget the things we're good at.
In the same body shape you feel is not enough, you have a a pointed nose you see and know it's beautiful, you even receive compliments on it. In the same “not good enough” body shape, you have a full or blonde hair people admire.
In your self acclaimed speaking factor, you have a beautiful singing voice.
When bashing your self for failing at set goals, we forget the phenomenal one's we have achieved in the past.
It's intriguing that moments we praise ourselves are short-lived. More time is spent on feeding negativity.
There's a popular story on “Two wolves” told by an old Cherokee Chief to his grandson about life.
“ There's a battle going on inside me and in every person. A fight between two wolves, the good and evil wolf .
The evil wolf is angry, envious, self pitying, resentful, false and sorrowful. The good wolf is good , joyful, peaceful, hopeful, serene , kind, empathetic and truthful.”
The grandson asked, “which wolf wins?”
The old chief replied, “the one you feed”.
This is a practical story that lays emphasis on the power of the mind, how it affects our entire wellbeing. Giving room to jaded thoughts, feeding the evil wolf will give you a thousand more fault in you, giving you more downsides to ponder on.
The willpower to maintain sangunity is often superceded by the fixed mental state of regular down talks to ourselves. Imagine you put in the same time and energy you use on self sabotage in praising and commending yourself, what great difference it'll Make. Perception of yourself contribute to your aura. You can't be cynical about you hundred percent of the time and expect other people to treat you better.
I won't say we change the way we feel about ourselves exactly because these negative thoughts are inevitable, theylk always come. The conscious ability to sail above and countering them anytime they pop in your head. Say affirmative and encouraging words to you, be kind to you, when you fall short of your personal expectations, bring you back and don't let the evil wolf win. Feed the good wolf till it gets chubby. Be hopeful and always look forward to better. You're the best of your kind, they're no two you! Even as an identical twin, you're a different entity from your twin. So try to give the unique you a good and stable mental health.
Reinhold Niebuhr wrote a prayer in a sermon he delivered at Health evangelical Union Church in Health Massachusetts.
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to know change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference”
We have to embrace and accept us for who we are and not dwelling on things that can't be altered.
“Courage to change the things that can be changed” . You can keep giving you a pat on the back for trying to be positive over something that gives you setbacks and makes you moody when it's within you power to change it. You have to work yourself through to optimal serenity, positivity, and self satisfaction. Be consistent to achieve what you want. People think consistency is hundred percent seven days a week. You don't have to be hundred percent everyday. Make little efforts consistently. Your strength may fail you at times but keep pushing.
The first day maybe eighty percent, next day seventy percent, following day forty percent, you get tired, it drops to twenty percent. Push up and you get to fifty percent. It's the little efforts that matters. Little efforts put together makes a big difference. You'll be surprised at how those little trials yield great result.
“Wisdom to know the difference” is essential. The Insight to distinguish between circumstances within our control and circumstances beyond our control. Focus your energy where you can make a positive impact and let go of unnecessary stress, anxiety and resistance related to things out of your control.
Embrace yourself, love you and give you the flowers you deserve.
Gracias!

Nicely written.
The wolf story is a practical example on how we should perceive things.
How we see today determines how we also develop our mindset for tomorrow.

That's why we should always stay positive
