YW, and thank you for answering, sandfleas look like that when the wave goes back to the ocean.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I have seen them before and are not overly uncommon here on the Atlantic seaboard. Despite their common name, sand fleas are not at all like the common pesky fleas you’re used to hearing about. So what is the only similarity between true fleas and this small, sand-loving crustacean? Their jumping abilities.

Other than that, they are pretty harmless.

I am a commercial fisherman and freeze them to use for bait. In some countries, people eat them. Not my cup of tea. I am also on the east coast, Fl.

Ha!! I lived in Cocoa Beach and used them for bait too!! This was on Chincoteague Island. VA

I live in Sebastian, Cocoa is about an hour north of me.
