Lessons from My Grandmother's Garden: Wisdom, Resilience, and the Beauty of Change

in ThoughtfulDailyPost14 days ago

Hello, my lovely community, today Im going to write about my grandmother. She is a source of wisdom in our family. You could always see her with a kind smile and comforting words. Her baking fills the house with nostalgic scents, and her stories transport us to long-gone eras. She was educated and really smart in their times. I think she's at her nineties now. But I cherish the moments I spent by her side when I was a bit young, listening to her tales and philosophies. She is the heart of our family.

Among all of my childhood memories, I could remeber she had nice little garden, which she maintained and took care of. I remember I used to enjoy spending time there playing and with the meaningful lessons she taught me. It was more than a place of beauty. ‘Twas like a classroom under the open sky, where wisdoms were sown in the soil of my mind.

I remember watching my grandmother, her hands slowly firming the soil, plnating seeds with her gentle touch. She once told me, ”Patience, my child, is the companion of wisdom.“ In our fast-paced world, where everone seeks immediate gratification, this lesson is like a beacon. Watching a seed slowly break the earth's soil, reaching the sky, taught me the virtue of patience. Just as a seed takes time to flourish, so too do our dreams and hopes require time to come to fruition.

Among other kinds of flowers such as roses and lilies, dandelions would occasionally spring up, fly in the breeze. I was quick to label them as nomads, my grandmother saw them difderently. She admired their resilience and the way they overcome adverse conditions. ”Life”, she said, will present you with challenges, but like the dandelion, you must find the strangth to rise above.” This perspective has been a guiding light in my life.Tconstantly reminding me that, patience and resilience in the face of adversity is a form of beauty.

The garden was a great example of coexistennce, every plant and creature played a role in the ecosystem. My grandmother would talk about harmony and balance, and how each element supported each others. this taught me about the importance of empathy and understanding in human relationships. Just as plants and insects coexist for garden's health, so too must we strive for harmony with those around us.

In the autumn season, when we used to go to our village, we would see autumn bringing a change, leaves turning golden and the garden preparing for a period of rest. My grandmother saw beauty in this cycle of letting go and the coming of renewal. “Life is a cycle of change, each phase with its own beauty,” she said. This helped me to embrace see it not as an end, but as new beginnings.

As I go through my own life, the lessons from my grandmother's garden remain with me. Patience, resilience, harmony, and the acceptance of change are not just mere principles for gardening, it is also for the living. In sharing these lessons, I hope to pass on the wisdom that was so generously shared with me. For in each of us lies a garden, waiting to be nurtured, to bloom in the fullness of time.

love you as always ☺️

That’s really great that your grandmother is loved by all, nowadays people stopped caring about the elders but I see they have ethics.

its truly rare in the cities nowadays, but village people or peoples who grew up in village, still listen to and take care of the elders there. btw thanks for reading my post ☺️
