By conveying our deeper thoughts on Hive, we can uplift and support each other across the blockchain. This week we had some wonderful authors visit to share their life reflections, wisdom, and snapshots of their experience on this rock with us.
No matter if they have responded to our weekly prompt, or posted on their own topics, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate thoughtfulness on chain! We hope you will consider taking the time to check their writing out and support their work! You may even make a new friend. ✌️
Optimism Narrative by @honeydue
There has never been a better time to have children. Thus reads one of my notes from Economics of Human Flourishing course I just finished on Peterson Academy. Tell you the truth, I wasn't too crazy about the course. I felt it was repetitive at times and that it could've been more impactful if they'd kept it shorter. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the last lecture tremendously, and the overall message of the course, namely the one above
Conversations With My daughter by @trucklife-family
I have really been enjoying the conversations that my eldest daughter and I have. Every now and again she comes to me with a question or some new information that she has heard, or another persons way of thinking. I'm enjoying, watching her broaden her mind, by exploring more of the world around her. She's not afraid to speak her mind, to share her opinion and neither am I. Which always leads to really interesting conversations. Today she came to me, after watching a clip from a documentary, where a young woman, was saying that she didn't want to have children in this world
My Path to Joy! by @rem-steem
Today, while doing my house chores in the morning, I overheard the music of my neighbors. It was one of my favorites and I love the meaningful lyrics. So I listened and was humming with it. "আমার এই পথ চাওয়াতেই আনন্দ। খেলে যায় রৌদ্র ছায়া, বর্ষা আসে বসন্ত ॥ কারা এই সমুখ দিয়ে আসে যায় খবর নিয়ে, খুশি রই আপন মনে– বাতাস বহে সুমন্দ ॥" It's a famous song by a Noble Literate Rabindra Nath Tagore. The music is about praising the time, and the wait rather than achieving something big
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕 𝑶𝒇 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 by @amiegeoffrey
Good friends are the kind who wants to see you win and call your attention to things they want you to improve on. This year has been a hell of a ride for me already. If you are observant you'll notice how I'm no longer present here on Hive like I used to last year. Here is still my home and where I find peace but my schedule for this year has changed drastically. Prior to now, I was a boss of myself who did things at her own pace
Birthdays Are For Happy Tears by @jhymi
Sometimes I feel like our own lack of concrete plans is a plan in itself. I believe in seizing our destiny and not just taking what life dishes. But I also believe in things happening as they were meant to happen. 16th January, 2025. It was a beautiful day
Suddenly, It's There by @olujay
"Are we there yet? Are we there yet"? My brother and I asked our parents repeatedly. We were on our way somewhere that day. To keep us from bothering them so much about getting there, my parents gave us a simple task
Red skies at night — sailor’s delight: January 16 2025 by @jayna
Have you ever heard that expression? We used to say it as children, believing the color of the sky at morning and night was a true indication of the weather. It was said that sailors loved red skies over the sea at night, but “red skies at morning? Sailors take warning! ” My husband and I went out for a walk toward the end of the day
The Truth Hurts, But It Heals | Writing Honestly by @coloringiship
“Write what disturbs you, what you fear, what you have not been willing to speak about. Be willing to be split open”. ~ Natalie Goldberg Writing requires an intimacy few are ready for. To write with vulnerability on the page is to bare your soul, to peel back what protects you, to expose the raw truths of your life, some of which you may not, in fact, fully grasp yourself. It’s frightening, messy, and gut wrenchingly human
Redefinition by @abenad
I saw different kinds of Abenads in the mirror all through 2024 in different situations. But the one thing that never changed was what I stood for. I always say part of the reason why I am who I am today is because I grew up from a home where there was abundance of love. Last year, I went through relationship tests. Not even romantic ones
For People. by @balikis95
There's always this urge we have to be seen or noticed by people. When we do things, we want someone to witness what we did, speak of it, and be recognised for it. And that's exactly where the pleasing comes from. The urge to want to be seen sometimes blinds us from seeing the truth. The truth of what our actions are doing to our souls and the result of the consistent actions in our lives
