Sadly, our human nature is to do nothing (or not enough ...) until it is too late. There are accounts on Hive which rightly take a dim view of work that is not properly sourced. It can be viewed as a form of plagiarism and they undertake punishing action to stop it.
Downvoting would do more than wipe out your rewards. They would also drive your reputation score way down. I have seen many instances where they will drive an account's score below 0. What happens then? Your posts are no longer visible ...
