Let's Face Facts, Simple Does It!

Did you see what I did with the title?(chuckles)

With all the big Korean and inexpensive drugstore skincare products making waves, it is easy to think that your cheap products might not be doing much good for your skin. I remember Face Facts was one of the very affordable brands I first used when I got into skincare years ago. Their Day and Night face creams were particularly my favourites but I slowly let them go because they stung my eyes. Other than that, they were great.

I recently began seeing a range of their products and they seem to have everything from cleansers to exfoliants, serums, toners and essences. Instead of spending money that I can't afford to, I have decided to switch back to cheaper alternatives like Face Facts. The prices are half the price of some of my current products and I can say it is a trusted brand.

I got the Face Facts Ceramide Hydrating Gentle Cleanser. It has 5 ceramides (which is good for the skin barrier), hyaluronic acid and oats. It is fragrance-free, vegan and good for deep cleansing dry, sensitive skin.

The skincare gurus say if you can't afford to buy the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, then you should get this. I have never used Cerave before because it's quite expensive in Nigeria, so I can't do a proper comparison myself.

What I can compare this with however, is the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash. This is also fragrance-free and vegan. It is good for all skin types unlike that of Face Facts which specifies dry, sensitive skin. That has got me thinking I might have made a wrong purchase because I have oily/combination skin. I don't think it is bad though, because there are no active ingredients in it that's particularly bad for my skin.

The Simple Refreshing Facial Wash is indeed kind to skin as it doesn't dry my skin out or give me a squeaky-clean feel that could be damaging to the skin barrier. That is what I hoped to get with Face Facts and I wasn't disappointed. Both products have a similar gel-like texture, they're colourless, and fragrance-free. They don't foam so much but do a good job with cleaning the skin.

When it comes to price, Face Facts is way cheaper than Simple. I usually buy Simple which is 150ml for 4000 Naira. Meanwhile, I got Face Facts 200ml for 3000 Naira and I got the 400ml for 5000 Naira. It was risky buying two bottles of a cleanser I had never used before but the quantity was just too eye-catching to ignore.

I usually use a pea-size amount of Simple which is okay for a cleansing, but the Face Facts label indicates to use 2-3 pumps. I used that and it was a bit too much so I'd be sticking to using 1 pump. The 200ml would last me at least 2 months at this rate and I will get to use the 400ml much later.

I haven't used Face Facts long enough but if I were to compare which I like more, I'd say I like Simple better on my face. It feels a little bit more refreshing and hydrating than Face Facts but that's nothing a moisturiser can't fix.

Both products are great for everyday cleansing and are the perfect simple washes you can add to your stack. You can alternate with other washes/cleansers that are specific for different skincare issues, for example, a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide cleanser if you have acne. However, those are not advisable to be used daily, you can get yourself any one of these two affordable washes for your daily cleansing.

I rate the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash 9/10 and the Face Facts Ceramide Hydrating Gentle Cleanser a 7/10.

Which daily cleanser/Face wash do you use?

I think there is no better feeling than having a clean and fresh face. It is good that you have taken the risk of buying new products, sometimes dermatological products are extremely expensive but in many cases you are only paying for the brand from the recognized laboratory. If you get a good product that works for your skin without problems, it has to be welcomed and if it allows you to save a little, even better 😅.

I feel like I won a lottery with the price of this product 😄

I just reviewed the simple facial wash too today in the community 😃, i love it so far , and it definitely would become a staple since i only started using it.

Lol. I saw your post already and commented. Simple really did good with this product

Very correct..!!

That Simple facial wash is soooo, I love it. I have tried other cleansers from the brand and although they are good, nothing like this one.

I agree with your score, it's one of my favourite cleansers ❤️

This one is really good. I tried their Purifying Facial Wash and didn't like the tiny granules in it, I guess that's what made my face itch.

I have that one too, but I use it only twice a week to avoid irritation,

I didn't know. I used it every day 😄

It also started to itch and cause acne, but this solution has worked for me, the bad thing is that I had to buy another one, but I am very satisfied with both

Glad I found out what the problem was. Thank you ❤️
