The day started off like any typical day in the class, never did I know that this particular day would forever cling in my memory, leaving me staring with embarrassment everytime I recall the scene.
It was a hot afternoon the bell was rang for change of lesson by the time keeper, never did I know that the bell for my humiliation was rang.
Mr Abdulrahman who happen to be my geography teacher came in and forgot what his duty was or what he was assigned to do as a teacher that very day. Little did I know Mr Abdulrahman prepared to come to the class to insult the hell out of us and also humiliate me in front of the class.
Mr Abdulrahman pause his general insult to the class and glanced at me with an expression which I can't tell. He then called me out to join him at the front of the class, my heart skip a beat then started to thunder in my chest, all I ever wished was for the ground to open so I can enter and hide myself because Mr Abdulrahman happens to be the most fearsome teacher in my high school.
As I stood beside Mr Abdulrahman the class was silent for a while and every eyes focused on me. A question suddenly dropped into my mind. "What could Mr Abdulrahman possibly wants from me? Never did I know the shocking word Mr Abdulrahman prepared for me.
With a different tone Mr Abdulrahman address the class with his voice projecting high in the classroom, "SS 2A with no doubt your colleague standing right in front of you all is a smoker and there's nothing anyone can tell me because I have carried out my investigation on him."I almost laughed out loud but all eyes was focused on me the more to the extend I was uncomfortable. This accusations stroke me like thunder lighting leaving me in wonder's because There's this fine girl I was eyeing in my calls as of then. Something suddenly whisper to me "Omoh Mr Abdulrahman don spoil your package😂.
I almost protested by words but words at some point I lacked the right words to use, I was completely dumb founded.
Mr Abdulrahman made sure he waste his period on my head for reason best known to him.
Suddenly it was time to go home. When I heard the sound of the school bell it was a call and a relief for me. I ran out of the class desperately. The words "smoker" hang on to me like and unwanted partner in crime.
That classroom moment send me a frightened scene in my head, reminding me me never to judge or use harshly words to someone to a certain idea that comes to my my head most especially the once that can't be explained on why I did that or how I came about that idea on my head. I know how it took me time to regain my friends trust about what the had from the mouth of Mr Abdulrahman.
I know very well that words are very powerful, words can affect one life in the positive direction or negative direction.
Why would you keep quiet and let your teacher rubbish you like that? what proof did her have to label you a smoker?
I was fearsome and thought twice about what the outcome would end up becoming, most especially picturing myself trying to defend myself from the most heartless teacher.
😂🤣 I understand. The teacher is lucky he did come across notorious students from government schools.
I don't think I would have taken that ridiculous labelling from Mr Whatever, whether he be god of wood. You must have been called that for as long as you were still in that school, sadly.
Yea. But he happens to be the only teacher who called me that
Have had issues with several teachers back in school some scold me verbally while some uses scriptures
But his case was just different
I can't even remember offending him back in high school
Right now I can only wish the hand of time can be turned back so I can say my mind out to him but nahhhhhh😌
is all in the past now. That's all I can say.

It's high time we get ready for the conversation of teachers bullying their learners. I can only imagine how you must have felt in that moment.
I can understand why you didn't defend yourself, the other teachers would rally round to defend their colleague and the outcome won't be good for you.
Beautiful story by the way even though the event wasn't beautiful.

This particular teacher and his colleagues have what I can only call a gang.
They call where they sit "MILITARY ZONE" no student enters there without coming out with a little stain of blood from his or her white shirt, i really don't know if because is a public school or what.
Most of my fear was basically on the military zone.
As a teacher in private schools, you dare not bully a child for no reason
I am a teacher in a private sector and I know how students take reports home to their parents not minding if is going to affect your work of not.
Moments like that are so embarrassing. Thank God for my quiet nature, no teacher has ever done that to me, except for throwing questions at me that I don't know the answer 🤣🤣
I feel for you though, imagine crushing on a lady for long, only to have Mr Abdul destroy everything within some minutes 😁😁.
That was very bad of him as a teacher though, if he had heard or seen you do a thing, he should have called you aside as a parent and discipline you and not publicly oike that
