As children, we often form strong beliefs about the world around us, shaped by the stories we hear, the people we meet, and the experiences we have. However, as we grow older, our perspectives change, and we begin to question the things we once held to be true. For me, one such set of beliefs that I once held dear but no longer do revolves around the mystical and supernatural. Here's my story:

When I was younger, I used to hear stories about witches, wizards, and other mystical creatures. I would often hear from my primary school mates, who had brothers in boarding school, talk about bush babies, night demons, and other scary things. They said those things would often posses people and might even kill them.
Most of the time, my mum would scold me for putting my legs on the wall and ask if I had collected food from people. She would often say that witches and wizards were the ones who always slept with their legs on the wall. She would also warn me not to accept things from people, saying that witches used food to initiate new members. Those weird stories kept popping up out of nowhere, and soon they became my beliefs. I couldn't step out of bed without seeing lights. I sometimes had scary dreams that were exactly as people described, and I almost started putting a broom beside my bed, just like in the horror movies my brother liked. When I remember those days, I often laugh. I always created a funny scene out of fear. Right now, I don't really fancy those weird stories, except when I want to make drawings or tell funny stories to kids. If I were to look at the funny stuff my mates said back then, I would wonder why students still believe them. The only story I can believe is the one about the kidnapping that happened then, which was also announced by the government. The rest were just folklore told by many for different purposes.
Our beliefs becomes our thoughts, our thoughts becomes our words, our words becomes our actions, our actions becomes our reality. Choose what you want to believe.

Stories and beliefs like these are always common during childhood, we grow up and find out they are myths, mere stories or exaggerations.
yes, that's very true and most people are very talented at creating such stories.
