Onboarded Both NewYear And Xmas Gift For Hive

in Hive Naija4 months ago

When I first found Hive 2 years ago, it has always been a big part of my life. During xmas period last year I wrote a post about giving Hive my Xmas gift. That gift was onboarding my sister @bipolar95 into hive. Actually I first told her about hive a long time ago but she thought it's one of all this usual scam site, not until hive started helping me in all aspect then she became interested to hop on in

Ever since I found hive it has really been a huge part of my life, so mentoring her about it wasn't that difficult. The only Challenge I had was opening the account. I used the free method on both ecency and peakD dapps and it wasn't easy creating one, kept giving me an error message. I had to buy a 1$ account from peakD before getting a well registered account for her.

The basics are quite simple but difficult to maintain. The first lesson I taught her was being consistent and patient, then explaining to her the keys found on hive and the terms used. I don't want everything to cluster in her mind, I do not want her to feel exhausted learning everything about hive, it will be more or less like reading a textbook and getting bored learning the terms. I don't want her to feel that way. So the best thing I did was to teach her along the way

Eventually she'll come across things she doesn't understand or things that look strange, that is the moment I come in, clearing the air And giving her a better understanding of what feels too intriguing. I think this way of learning is the best, it actually will sink in more than just mentoring her rapidly and blindly.

One of the best things about Hive is,; its filled with so many materials we just need to look at the right place where they are buried. A lot of hivers have written some educational posts to help newbies get around hive easily. Luckily I bookmarked One of Erikah's posts "Communities Explained Newbies guild" I shared this with her and it was quite helpful for her to get a better understanding about hive, now she spend roughly all day just learning through and reading every tutorial about hive.

Well there goes it. I have a New year present for Hive and am yet to write a post about it, recently I went to spend the festive holidays in hubby's family house in Lagos, and I was just writing a post when his sister asked me what's the latest online update in town, I told her about hive and guess what, she didn't think twice before jumping right in, was on my tail until I onboarded her. I gave her the same tutorial as bipolar95.

@sarahossai is yet to write her intro post so am yet to write about my New year gift to Hive 😁. Well there goes it, you went for a festive celebration and you end up getting an Ultimate Quill card just glad it wasn't anything sneaky..
All the same have never felt so alive ever since I found hive.

Till we read again, Kudos!,

Congrats, hopefully you can keep onboarding people in. It does get easier, specially on the virtual space.

@nkemakonam89 says - Your new year gift to hive sounds good and I must commend your effort on onbaording. It's important to give the newbies all the basic information they need to avoid too much complain about rewards when they join
