My Journey With The Ecency App

From the very first day I joined Hive, ecency has been the frontend I’ve connected with the most. In fact, I can boldly say that I have been using Ecency right from the get go. Even though I have tried out a few other platforms that allow interaction on Hive, I always find myself coming back to ecency. The reason is simple, it is easier to use, the interface feels welcoming, and the overall experience is smoother compared to many others.

When I started, it was through ecency that I made most of my posts, comments, and interactions on Hive. The app gave me a direct entry point into the blockchain without feeling overwhelmed by too many technicalities. I know some people prefer the web version of Hive or other frontends, but for me, ecency has always been that reliable tool in my hand. Whether I am at home or on the move, it has made posting, commenting, and engaging with others much simpler.

One of the recent additions to ecency that really caught my attention is the swap feature. Back then, this wasn’t available, but now it’s one of the most exciting upgrades in my opinion. It shows that the development team is paying attention to users and making things better over time. Being able to swap tokens directly within the app saves me the stress of going through multiple steps outside the platform. For me, that’s a big win.

Of course, the ecency still has its limitations, especially when you compare the mobile app with the web app. On the web version, you can do things like adding GIFs easily, formatting your posts with more options, and even navigating communities in a broader way. The mobile app, on the other hand, is still catching up in some of these areas. For instance, adding GIFs directly isn’t supported, and when writing posts, some of the formatting features feel limited. This doesn’t make it a bad app, but it leaves room for growth. I personally hope that in future updates, the mobile app will bring in more of the web features so that users like me who prefer mobile won’t feel left out of anything.

Another thing I enjoy about ecency is the reward system. The ecency Points have been a huge motivation for me. I like the fact that apart from Hive rewards, every action I take on the app posting, commenting, or even just engaging comes with a little bonus. It feels like encouragement to stay consistent, and that consistency is what keeps many of us active on Hive. It might look like a small thing to some people, but to me it makes a big difference.

Then there is the community. I can’t talk about ecency without mentioning how welcoming and helpful the community is. From my experience, people are always ready to guide, share tips, and respond when questions are asked. That sense of belonging is something I truly value. Hive itself can sometimes look like a wide ocean, but having a community like ecency makes it easier to navigate.

Lastly, I think it is only fair to give a big shout-out to the people behind ecency. @good-karma especially has been a name I’ve seen constantly associated with updates and improvements. It is not easy to keep developing and maintaining such a tool, but their consistency really shows commitment. To me, ecency is not just an app, it is part of my Hive journey and the reason I am able to express myself here today.

If I am asked to sum it up, I would say ecency has its strengths, its weaknesses, but most importantly, it keeps improving. And for me as a user right from the beginning, that is something to truly appreciate.
