I started in the year 2018 at Elbossaa Model College, Epe. When I started my secondary school level known as junior secondary school 1 Then my class teacher was Mr. Kolawole I.T. He was the teacher that made me prepared for the secondary levels probably because of the training he gave me as a student. Though the first year's journey wasn't that easy I had to go through it as the Genesis of my story. Moving on to the exodus of my journey in junior secondary school 2 which exposed me to many more experiences in the level. My experience was interesting and made me more welcome to the secondary levels.
Though I also encountered problems like rivalry, competitions in class, serious-minded students, and many more I had to give myself the discipline I know can make me thrive through the level. Hmmm, I remembered I also went to a competition organized by the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) I thought I had prepared well but when I got to know my result, I was disheartened. Then I knew that there was more to mathematics than I expected. That competition made me assume that I knew nothing when it comes to mathematics. I encouraged myself and had the determination that I must do everything in my power to be very good at that subject.
The drive too kept coming naturally and with time I started doing some complex calculations without the use of calculators within short periods. I got used to winning and also finished as the best student that year but that was just the level two completed.
Moving on to junior secondary level 3 was almost tiring for me because I felt like the pressure from that class was just too much as we were preparing for the general examination from the government known as the BECE Basic Examination Certificate Examination. My teachers would always make me an example whenever they are talking of students with bad handwriting but I changed them when I was about to write the exam. I prepared greatly for the exam but seeing my results made me disheartened.
Because of my morals, I carried myself as the best student in that set. That wasn't just my best. Then I was encouraged by my vice principal and my teacher cool8 that It was just a level and I had to sit up.
Getting into senior secondary level, I gave it my best in learning because I knew that if I could successfully finish that level I wouldn't have to work more for the rest of the levels. It was challenging because I was given the chance to make decisions about my life which was difficult to make.
The teachers who supported me throughout my levels include one of our hiveians cool8 and Mr. Ajose. They supported me throughout my levels. Then I had to take O-level examinations in my second senior secondary level. I had a pass but a subject cut me off from getting all nine. I had to move on. I entered the third level and the pressure was becoming ill, especially the pressure I received from my mom who is always like ‘Praise go and read your books, don't spend time on the phone’. I would always grumble but I knew that it was for my good and I endured it all.
In fact, due to the preparations, I would always engage myself in class sessions with my classmates because I had the understanding and would always pass them on also to my classmates who were ready to be serious for the upcoming examinations. Some of them would always ask me like ‘Praise, is there any subject you don't understand’ and I would just reply to them telling them how my mom would always make me read my eyes out though I also find reading interesting which helped in boosting my charisma for studying that's why I usually seem odd to students if I tell them that mathematics is my best subjects. I would give all the praise to God and my appreciation to my mom and my teachers who supported me all through, even when I went the wrong path, they would always call me and show me the truth though sometimes I usually had disbelieved but later on I realized that they were showing their care for me. Now, I finished the third level of my senior secondary school with joy in my heart. Thought I would not be able to finish the levels but now I'm done with it all.
Thanks to my supporters, and thanks to you all for reading.
