New dawn

Greetings!

The sound of the song " holiday is coming" was what rented the air on the 16th of December last year 2024 in my school as we were winding up the curricular and the extracurricular activities for the year 2024.

The year 2024 was full of intrigues and up and down, but then, the fast approaching holiday and the festive period was like an antidote to the stress and intrigues of the year. Thank God there's a word called holiday where one can take a break from work. The school vacated on the 16th of December, 2024. And we all proceeded on holiday that spanned through December 16th 2024, till January 6th 2025. What a holiday?

Thank God there's something called holiday that always helped to take stress off a worker, had it been there's nothing like holiday, people would have been dying of stress at work. But the existence of holiday has really brought succour to the entire human race and as for me, I was a great beneficiary of what holiday stands for. This can really be seen in the way I spent out my last holiday. Before we proceed on the last holiday and at the tale end of last term, everybody was stress out, but the holiday came at the right time to replenish me of all the stress both mental and physical stress that I have passed through during the course of the last term. Thank God the holiday came at the right time and I too was able to maximize the opportunity the holiday brought to me. During the holiday, I was able to rest and attend to all the pending issues at hand caused by my busy schedule at work. Also, I was able to check on friends and relatives and visit my farm which I have not been able to visit all these while. Another was that i and my family were able to plan for the Christmas and the new year celebration which later panned out to be a success. During the holiday, I was also able to have a personal retreat of my year and also plan ahead of the years to come. This and many more made my holiday to be a holiday to remember.

So, after the splendid and exciting festive holiday comes resumption. Hmmm! Holiday gone? YES ! The enjoyment was over and we are now back to work. The first day of my resumption to work was not that easy as I have been used to taking my time for the past three weeks of the festive holiday, but man have to work and make ends meat. So, waking up very early in the morning was not part of me again and as a result of the rest I have enjoyed for the past three weeks, I find it difficult to come out of my bed, but it's what I needed to do. So, I got out of bed, dressed up and left for school.

Though, late to school, I was happy to meet my colleagues most of whom came late to work too and we were happy together, giving thanks to God for seeing us through the last year 2024, and even making us to see this new year 2025. We exchange pleasantries and we hugged and congratulated ourselves on the job weldone we did last year. It was indeed an exciting and wonderful scene to behold.

So, immediately we were all done with the greetings and exchange of pleasantries, we all went into the school administrative building for an important staff meeting, there at the meeting, the motion was moved for the reading of the last minute of the last meeting which was read by the secretary to the meeting, in the person of Mr Akintade. After the minutes has been read, a thanksgiving session was declared by the principal of the school. At the thanksgiving session, we all give glory to God for sparing our lives to see the new year 2025, with smile on everybody's face, we all rejoiced and praise the name of the lord for counting all the member of staff worthy of another year.

After the thanksgivings, the principal of the school charged us all on the need to be up and doing while exercising our duty as teachers. After that, the principal asked for our cooperation and support. He said, eventhough, we have been cooperating and supporting his leadership, he said he still want more of that as he's an Oliver twist that will always ask for more.

Also, the VP administration, charged us not be negligent of our duty, she said, she knew we are up to the task and that we should not let the task begging. Afterwards, the management asked us all to submit all the school statutory records in our care and the meeting was brought to an end with a member of staff raising the motion for adjournment and seconded by another member of staff in person of Mrs Abodunrin Oluyinka. A closing prayer was said and we all left the venue to our various staff rooms in preparation for the task ahead.

Also, on the first day of resumption, the number of students on ground were too low and as a result of them even coming late to school, we could not conduct the assembly for them. But asked the three classes we have to assemble in a class of their arms which they did and there and then, teachers were going in to revise with the students last term work using their examinations past questions to revised with them. So, the first week was meant for revision in my school.

Also, in the first week, after our records has been returned to us, I quickly filled in all the data that are needed to be filled into the register, school diary and so on. And afterwards, I returned all to the appropriate quarters and I was happy to have completed my work on the statutory record. Less I forget, I also took my lesson note to my HOD for marking which she was happy and ready to mark for me. She marked it and returned the same to me.

Now, the second term work has started and the turn out of students is on the increase, we now conduct assembly every morning, the student have also been separated into their normal classes, and teachers are getting used to the new term as of before. Though, it was a difficult day and week at work after the festive holiday, but here we are adapting and carrying out our duty as it's required of us.

Now, holiday is no more coming like I started, but it's now over and work has started. Though it's not easy to be waking up very early and prepare for work but we are adapting and like today, I entered the class to impact knowledge to the students.
