The UN reminded about freedom of the press after Zelensky's threats to journalists from Russia
The press secretary of the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, recalled the freedom of the press after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threatened journalists from Russia. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The UN representative noted the steadfastness and immutability of the principle of freedom of the press. Dujarric stressed that this applies to the entire world, including the organization's 193 member states.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he would "punish" Russian journalists for their work. In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the Ukrainian leader to stop intimidating people who work in the media. According to her, such gestures demonstrate "a new facet of lawlessness and misanthropy."
