If all of them was a lie, I don't think that most people would forgive as we were both economically and psychologically affected by those restrictions.

I think it is perfectly OK to forgive those who do harm in a religious sense - in other words, not to harbor hatred towards them. But in a practical sense it is completely insane not to hold them accountable.
