Astral Wars finished its first tournament a few days ago, and it was a lot of fun. Hosted by Arkasz, it was a resounding success. It required every player to change up the way they played a little bit to make it happen, as the rules didn't allow unfettered decks.

Astral Wars, in pre-alpha, is available for sign up in https://discord.gg/eXV3tVnfK2. Astral Wars, a tcg, inspired by hearthstone, mtg, and yugioh currently has 62 cards in three factions. Any of the factions can be played together in a normal match, and there is no mana. You gain one battery every turn that'll allow you more battery summoning mechs, frameworks, or programs.

Tournament Requirements

The tournament required 3 games, and that each player wouldm play each of three starter decks, but with their choice of battleship power, and The Absolute Clone could added to replace any card.

Tournament Participants

Grimmjoe, the winner of the tournament, played fiercely, and he credited his win to his years playing yugioh. He stated that playing me was like taking candy from a baby, and I can speak from experience that he is a damn good player.

Carrotthecaptain, with experience from MTG, was also one tough customer. He showed up well, losing only by a single game. He has long held the top spot in the leaderboard rankings as well until grimmjoe got a ton of free wins on me. Sorry Carrot. My bad.

Results

Everyone played well, the games were tough, and we're excited by how more cards could shake up the game and strategy. I didn't play in this tournament sadly, but I'm excited to make it to the next one for sure.
