This is a beautiful write up but before I share my own opinion about here's a brief event to back up my beliefs.
I used to think I am one person that can exist even with socializing physically with people and as long as I have my phone, data and constant electricity to go I have all that I need untill about a week ago when I close friend of mine just stopped talking to me for no good reason and I was thrown into utter confusion. I didn't even know the whole thing would hurt this much and what made it worse was the fact that I saw em hanging around with other people ignoring me like I don't even exist. It was then that I completely understood first hand that no matter how much we try to deny it, humans need company.
Now if I ever find myself as the last man on earth, I don't think that life is even worth life because what is even the point to it all in the end. There's no one to talk to, you can't procreate so no matter what you do the human race still ends with you and to me that is not a life worth living.
For starters I won't give up quite easily. The first two years of this event will be channeled into searching for other survivors just to confirm if my suspicions are spot on and if the entire mission yields a negative result, I am straight up ending my life because I mean what is even keeping me sane in a world where only me matter because I am the only being on earth.
As unsettling as my reaction is to this problem,I believe it is the best I can do because I see no point struggling to win a lost cause.

It will be mentally challenging indeed. This goes on to prove that we need human beings no matter how much of a lone wolf we think we may be.
It was helpful that the experience with your friend but the reality before you. At least it will save you from more issues in your friendships that can bring them to ruins. It's important to understand the opinions of people sometimes. That's why I don't always go with the mantra about not minding people. Their positions can be right sometimes.
I used to think in that kind of way too but I realised that I need people and they need me too. We are social beings.
