Smartphone addiction, a major source of mental health issues

Smartphones in the present world are a very common thing, and almost all of us have at least one smartphone. Thinking about life without smartphones in this digital world is very hard to imagine, and I think it is somehow impossible to do so unless we are forced to. I haven't seen any person who doesn't use a smartphone. Even kids have smartphones. After waking up, most of us turn on our mobile screens and check the notifications.

Through smartphones, we can connect to the world, and communication systems have become easier. We can send any message or receive any news instantly, and we should be thankful to the internet for it, which has made the smartphone more useful to us. Aside from communication, it can help us to watch movies or dramas and play games. For recreation or connectivity, or for something else, a smartphone is enough to fulfill most of our needs. Additionally, now we have an updated AI feature, which can give us a better experience, and we can take the best advantage of mobile phones through it.

From little kids to senior citizens, everyone is busy with smartphones. They are using the smartphone almost all day like glue. Such a thing is not good for health, either physical or mental. In case of physical health issues, we can notice them easily, but they also create effects on mental health. We came to such a situation that it should not be taken lightly because if we do so, it will end up making things worse. Let me explain how.

Access to the use of smartphones keeps our brains active, and as we are using them frequently, we are not getting enough time to give a break to our brains. Sleep is the best thing we can do for our brains, but because of smartphones, we have almost sacrificed our sleep. Our sleeping time is not enough, and it means we are not getting enough rest, and headaches are very common in that case. The side effect of heat can be getting angry easily or losing temper for silly things, which is not surprising.

In the past, people would go outside for a walk in their free time or to do something they loved or enjoyed. But now we have become so busy that we don't have time for doing such things, as we feel we can get everything through smartphones. That's the reason we cannot interact with nature properly, and obviously, nature is the best healer for many cases, and we are missing the opportunity. And that's the reason we can be influenced by little mental pressure.

Another thing is the communication between family members. In the earlier days, the bonding was very strong, and family members could play a strong support role for a person in case of giving me mental support, but now, because of access to and use of smartphones, the communication or interaction between family members has been reduced a lot, and the bonding has become weak. So there is no longer strong support from a person in the present time.

Smartphones themselves are a reason for mental stress, and because of them, we stopped doing all the activities that can help us stay strong mentally.
