When One Mentor Corrupt Individual Mindset

Mentorship have destroy the life of many people, many at times people who we always look up to tend to be the opposite of what they teach us or tell us. Many of us must have in one way or the other have what will call a role model, role models are people who look up to, who will love to follow their footstep or be the way they protrude to be. Growing up as a kid my role model was my Daddy, he taught me how to be bold, courageous and face my fear, and he also encourage me not to ever give up ony dreams, my dad is one person that I know he is courageous himself boldness himself and he never give up in his dreams until he bring them into reality. However as growth is always constant and it occurs, I was looking outside the home and I saw someone who I called my mentorn outside from my daddy and from that very moment I made one of the greatest mistake.

Many a time we choose mentor or a role model because of what we see and not what the person is made up of and that is where most of us make mistakes. When you look up to someone who you see something you admire and all of a sudden those things which you admire are no more day eventually or suddenly they become the opposite of what you saw in the person you will definitely lose interest in such person and probably lose interest in mentorship. When I made this individual who was actually into beauty pageant, of course he was someone I admire so much and everything about pageantry and him was given and I was looking up to uphold his own personality do exactly what a does in field of pageantry but then something made me to lose interest after one year. I get to confirm that this individual is not who is dream to be, there are a lot of things that I won't be able to talk about here however mentorship if not well taken care of can destroy one's life.

My little advice to those who believe in mentorship is that, you are someone who is being mentored should know the m of those process have a target that you have to achieve in the process of mentorship and not necessarily the personality in general but that aspect of him that contribute to the reason of mentoring you. This is where a whole lot of us get is wrong we believe that being mentored is possessing all the personality of that individual, however it is for guidance for you to build common personality that you admire in him or her...
