RE: Have You Seen The Hive DAO Proposal To Fund Market Research & Growth Strategy for Hive?

in Hive Governance3 months ago

There is no reliable way to notify people on Hive or to know if people have been notified. The proposal system is an essential part of the infrastructure of Hive, so to me it's not a problem to notify or be notified in this way. Lots of work goes into the proposals and I now realise how little attention most of them receive, regardless of their merit. Sorry to have inconvenienced you.

Every tag spammer thinks they have a valid reason to do it. That doesn't mean they are right. You have inconvenienced pretty much everyone, not just me.

What if I don't want to be notified?

I say that is a choice many of us have. Just like I don't want to get spam phone calls and spam emails.

I consider this post and action a spam and I like to opt out please.

No problem, your opting-out is noted.

If you don't understand how the overall hive community sees this then there is nothing we can say to you.

Hi, I am the main person behind Strategizer. I have been using Steem/Hive since 2016, a couple of months after it went live. I have also been building, designing and marketing social software since 2006. We all have our own views and certainly not everyone agrees with you here, since we received more upvotes as a result of this notification that was sent out.

The largest, multi billion dollar social networks often bombard users with notifications that cannot be disabled in many cases. In my case, this is the first time in 7 years that I have sent a single mass tag and it is in the name of growing hive, following a multi week process of creating the proposal.

If a single notification bothers you more than no market research ever having been carried out for Hive, then there is nothing we can say to you! 😁

You probably did gain some votes, but you also lost a lot of votes. We already read your proposal the day it was created. We are very involved in all things Hive. We also understand that the overall perception of mass tagging is frowned upon and deemed spam. So, we uphold that value.

We are stating that this specific activity has pushed us to not back your proposal, and argue many others tagged that also read your proposal feel the same.

Ok, no problem, we all have our own views. I personally think that a single notification in a sea of notifications is an extremely petty reason to not support such a project - but so be it.

Never said that was the only reason. More the straw that broke the camel's back.
