RE: The Hive Blockchain: A Foundation For Global Community

in Hive Governance10 months ago

Thanks, yes, there is a lot to explore here and I have really only scraped the surface.
The topic of freedom of speech is an important one and a divisive one too. Having written essays on it in the past, I know that some of those involved will just repeat the same claims over and over, without any intent to create solutions and without acknowledging there is even a problem. We lack the capacity to objectively measure the situation and so things just resort to opinion contests and no-one feels entirely good with the outcome.
There are several important solutions to the problem, one of them is as I mentioned - greater decentralisation of governance power. However, this requires more onboarding and in turn then, that requires some kind of mechanism to demonstrate that free speech already exists here in a real way that doesn't disenfranchise people holding views that certain large stakeholders disagree with.
The other main solution involves layer 2 tokens and the ability to massively upgrade the tools and features available to communities that operate them. This appears to be on the horizon along with generalised smart contract functionality. We can certainly plan in advance of these being delivered, so for now that is what I am suggesting.

Sort:

Look, we‘re roughly 60-65% through the bullmarket. Bitcoin will cruse at 45k/55k until we see the GOD candle and things start to turn around. The technical start of the Bull was ~~November 2022.

Now as much as I love techno-miracles, it seems that nearly all of the market driven gains are getting eaten by people leaving the ecosystem. The daily active users point in that direction too. And the most profound bloody truth is: The Market is always right.

Now I think the current stakeholders are stubborn enough to ride this bitch to the ground, only to get their ways. But let us be real for a second, when it comes to Free Speech - they don’t care.

Currently here what you can’t do without getting targeted by the Hive Owls:

  • Don't post trending MEMEs
  • Don't repost news
  • Don't upvote comments
  • Don't post images you don't own
  • Don't use wrong hashtags
  • Don't write short content as posts
  • Don't spam posts, even if you have RCs
  • You need to be part of our discord
  • Don't repost old content from your other social media profiles
  • Don't backup your posts here without rewards declined
  • Don't post in HaveYouBeenHere if you have not been there
    ... and so on ...

Excuse me Mrs, there is a situation here. Content moderation is a problem,we all knew it and got sold that the Owls are our only solution. Than X can an schooled us with Community Nodes. Now it is 2024 and the nice again the Owls are running around, breaking all ‚rules‘ themselves and still start fights all over the place.

Here is Maket Cap or Coin, Hive Engine Assets and now increasing L2 activity while the community on the main chain is committing suicid. Explain somebody to me how this will not cause a bunch of forks in 2025. All that’s missing is a trigger, for example Upbit or Binance delisting and it could happen even faster.

People need to realize that the active community is critically small and there is real danger around the corner. It is long over due to really invest into inclusivity, at all cost, because it’s naked survival now.

All of the valid issues are why I made this post and why I am focused on finding solutions that turn things around for Hive. I will be posting again fairly regularly on this and my solutions will become clearer.
