I've been procrastinating on finding other remote work and sending out job applications for the past months because I dread seeing those traditional ways of job recruitment. I knew I never would fit nor would I conform to the old ways of work conditioning. So I somehow just found myself enjoying my stay here on Hive. 😅 But as I promised to myself I must finish this mission of remote-job-hunting by the end of this year.

500 Squats? What for?

Then I stumbled on this job posting where they were looking for someone to fill a specialized role which I have been eyeing and waiting for some time now. Damn, I was excited! And their only requirement to pass the first stage was 500 push-ups for men and 500 squats for women!

500 Squats to test one's mental strength and endurance! It won't be an easy feat and most would just shrug this one out and move on to the next job posting they could find and easily apply to but not me! 😁 This unique way of hiring people was interesting for me and I like a little challenge.

Can I do it?

Hell, I don't know but I have to try, right? My older self would say right away "I can't" because of my physical condition back then. But now that I have lost some weight, been eating healthy, and working out (yoga, swimming, and dancing) consistently, I found myself willingly taking the challenge without a beat. Since I'm just going to do it, I'll put in the effort and push myself to complete it.

My motivation?

Bills and My Cat - Osiris. 😂 Well, my cat got sick and I'm already foreseeing some expenses because of the maintenance we have to do in the coming weeks and months. But on a serious note, I've adjusted to my simple beach life here and found myself ready to be doing more of my life.

Was I able complete 500 squats?

You can watch the video! 😉 But if there was one takeaway from this challenge that I can share with you is that "If you want something, then you don't give up easily."

If I did finish the 500 squats, hopefully, I'll move on to the next stage of the recruitment process. If not, at least it was one hell of a workout! You should try it too!

My gosh miss! How amazing your body is to be able to do 500 squats. Wait, I just wanna ask when do you inhale and exhale? Do you inhale when you are in the standing position and exhale when you are in a squat position? or vice versa?

I haven't done this before, but I know the feeling of shaky knees and the heaviness of the legs. Congrats miss for achieving this kind of workout, and kudos to the company you are applying for because their style is way different.

I noticed the door closed itself, (is there a mumu there?) just kidding! Love the last note you showed.

inhale when squatting. exhale when standing up. I did the challenge yesterday and now my legs are sore! can't properly walk the stairs! 😂

Bitaw, do what your body can do at the moment. no pressure and just be consistent. ahw. abot jud na og 500!

I just did the challenge yesterday! And my legs are so sore! I can't walk the stairs properly. Sakit but I can feel sumexy na ako. hahaha.

Yowzer, I think 500 push ups or squats would put me in hospital a month although my mind says I can still do it like back in the day although my body would kick me these days 😅

Definately sounds like an interesting job though compared the mundane type thing that I have the same mindset about as you & bills and Osiris are definately good motivation 😻

Wow, impressive! Congrats :) You are very fit. Cool video too btw :) I would definitely go for push ups rather than squats but it would still be very challenging for me even though I work out regularly...
