Saludos hivers de la comunidad de bellas artes, hoy les muestro un poco de mi experiencia en las clases de iluminación 2. El semestre pasado ví clases de iluminación 1 y la verdad me agradó muchísimo está unidad curricular. Hay muchas cosas que en mi quehacer diario están automatizadas en mi mente, tengo algún tiempo dedicada más hacía el trabajo que al estudio, como resultado de esto, hay muchas cosas que se hacer en el ámbito laboral pero no tengo un concepto en mi mente para definirlas, ya que son cosas que aprendí únicamente a través de la praxis y no hubo una sistematización para todos esos procesos.

Greetings hivers of the fine arts community, today I show you a little of my experience in lighting 2 classes. Last semester I saw lighting 1 classes and the truth is that I really liked this curricular unit. There are many things that in my daily work are automated in my mind, I have some time dedicated more to work than to study, as a result of this, there are many things that I know how to do in the workplace but I have no concept in my mind to define them, because they are things that I learned only through praxis and there was no systematization for all these processes.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de estas clases es que vemos la teoría a través de la práctica, por ejemplo, en esta última clase estuvimos realizando varios esquemas de iluminación que previamente habíamos investigando, y durante el proceso tuvimos una explicación detallada de la angulación necesaria para cada esquema, esto es súper útil porque permite un nivel de planificación total sobre la pauta, de hecho nos explicaron cómo realizar un plano de planta.

One of the things I like most about these classes is that we see the theory through practice, for example, in this last class we were doing several lighting schemes that we had previously researched, and during the process we had a detailed explanation of the angulation needed for each scheme, this is super useful because it allows a level of total planning on the pattern, in fact they explained how to make a floor plan.

Un plano de planta es un documento donde se plasma por escenografía y por plano los tiros de cámara y cada esquema de iluminación que se armara en set. Especificando que tipo de luz, cuáles modificadores y filtros, además hay información específica de la angulación y direccionalidad de cada faro. Digamos que no hay una forma correcta o incorrecta de realizar un plano de planta, sino que, es una herramienta que cada director de fotografía amolda a su forma de trabajo para facilitar o hacer más accesible la información para todos, así todos puedes llegar con una idea clara de que hacer.

A floor plan is a document where the camera shots and each lighting scheme that will be set up on set are shown by scenery and by plan. Specifying what type of light, which modifiers and filters, there is also specific information of the angulation and directionality of each headlight. Let's say that there is no right or wrong way to make a floor plan, but rather, it is a tool that each cinematographer molds to their way of working to facilitate or make the information more accessible to everyone, so everyone can arrive with a clear idea of what to do.

Algo curioso de esta clase es que, nos llevaron a un estudio para hacer estas prácticas y casualmente había tres luces VGM que es la marca con la que solemos trabajar en peinetas producciones, solo que estas no eran de tantos lux ya que emitían solo 30 watts. Otra diferencia es que las de la productora son RGB, estas eran bi color. También había iluminación HMI y fluorescente, lo que me pareció interesante porque es raro ver este tipo de faros fuera del contexto televisivo o cinematográfico y este era un pequeño estudio para crear contenido institucional.

Something curious about this class is that we were taken to a studio to do these practices and coincidentally there were three VGM lights which is the brand we usually work with in production combs, only that these were not so many lux as they emitted only 30 watts. Another difference is that those of the production company are RGB, these were bi color. There was also HMI and fluorescent lighting, which I found interesting because it is rare to see this type of lights outside the television or film context and this was a small studio to create institutional content.

Es súper interesante la manera en que el cine hace confluir distintos aspectos de la vida para crear arte, si vemos todos estos aspectos estrictamente técnicos y matemáticos que debemos conocer no son precisamente arte, sino ciencia. Sin embargo el cine nos hace poner estos conocimientos científicos al servicio del arte y la materialización de una idea, una historia, un mensaje.

It is very interesting how cinema brings together different aspects of life to create art, if we look at all these strictly technical and mathematical aspects that we must know, they are not exactly art, but science. However, cinema makes us put this scientific knowledge at the service of art and the materialization of an idea, a story, a message.
