Baristart - Your new coffee companion for a REAL coffee

Hello Friends! this time, I don't share any DIY or dev post. I'm a coffee lover. Some of you know that (Hello Melinda, Marius, Wes, ...). But that's what I believed... because it's wrong.

Some months ago, I've met Renaud, the co-founder of Texas Coffee House (my best coffee place in Mons, Belgium). It's a friend now, but one time, I said something and Renaud became "angry". The only thing I said is :

I'm a coffee lover. Every morning, I take a Senseo coffee for a good start.

Today, I know I was wrong. Renaud often makes fun of me because of that. But he has a great heart and share many tips to have a better coffee with my "Senseo Evil coffee machine"!

Why am I telling this? Because Renaud and his partner, Anoushka, have launched Baristart, a great (IMO, the best) online place around the coffee universe : training courses and social network, with real professionals and enthusiasts sharing their best tips for you! It's available via website but also with iOS and Android apps.

I was enthusiastic about the idea of testing. After some time, I'm really impressed! And that's why I wrote this post, to share this project with you. After that, the coffee will never have secrets for you.

My favorite part : the training courses

Why this kind of training was never created before??? The courses are in three languages : English, French and Italian. All of the training courses aren't made by an unknown TikTok influencer to make views, but by a real gold medal-winning Italian Espresso Champion from ABC Dersut! And that's a game-changer:

  • High-quality knowledge
  • Myth-busting about coffee world
  • Cover history, many coffee types
  • Many latte art courses

The other part: the social network

The second part was made to share your latte art, your emotions or your best coffee story with a world which understand the coffee passion. The project behind the Baristart social network is simple:

It's highly effective! This space is fast, clean, without so much advanced features. Of course, I'll ask some questions, opinions and maybe share some (open-source) creations about coffee. You know me, the first thing in my brain is "How to create a great open-source connected espresso machine?"

Of course, if I do that, I'll share that here and Baristart. But before that, I continue the training courses.

Conclusion

I love the coffee world, and I'll progress to make a "real coffee". The only bad thing in this story is simple but hard: My Senseo coffee isn't really good. I'll do my best to have better coffee every morning.

This sounds amazing, @bambukah68! I'm a big coffee lover too and always looking for ways to learn more and improve my coffee game.

I just finished drinking a coffee recently made in an Italian coffee maker, so here is a record of just the rest of the coffee at the bottom of the cup because the rest is already running through my veins.

You should have lived in Colombia, which produces the finest coffee in the world.

I used to drink 5 coffees a week, but I noticed that they didn't do me much good. I stayed awake at work, but then they made me sleep little. I'm reducing the times I drink coffee

Oh wow, I‘ve got to share this with my son. He works in a barista coffee shop and is very dedicated to good coffee. ☕️
I am a coffee lover too - I use a Bialetti and wouldn‘t trade it for anything in the world 😊
