RE: Wizard's Log - March 12th, 2022

In the video, you are talking about getting "gnosis", knowledge through one's own experience and you are touching on "the occult" as just hidden knowledge, or knowledge that is not widely known to most people.

I think one should make a difference between just "things that are not known (yet or ever)", like certain attributes of certain animals/substances/materials/physics/chemistry/biology/linguistics/technology/etc. or body functions that are not fully understood in every little detail (even though "science" thinks they are already) and one does not even realize that there are things that are there that one has not understood yet or that there are certain details on a topic that one missed to understand, or details about anything, that one does not even have a clou about whatsoever. Or just wisdom from personal experience and reflection/observation/thinking. So, I think that there is a difference between that kind of "occult" knowledge and the witchcraft/sorcery/wizardry kind of "occult" knowledge, like using spells, summoning evil spirits, using any kind of magical spells (if meant for good or bad intent is irrelevant), contacting familiar spirits (basically evil spirits), fortune telling, channeling entities. Using spells from old/ancient magic books which names I am not going to mention here but you know what I am talking about.

So, what's you stance on the second type of "occult"?

Sort:

Magic is putting knowledge about how nature works into effect. I don't see a divide between knowledge of how the body works and how the spirit world works... it's all nature. The determining factor when it comes to good/evil magic is whether it causes harm.

Thanks for your elaboration.
