What Are Your Dreams?

One day, I'm going to buy a boat. I want to live on my boat in a cove on an island. That's it. The dream. I just want the sun, the water, sleeping in a rocking bed that can also take me to new locations.

Of course I want to write, fish, dream other dreams. I want to spend time with loved ones, make new friends. I want to experience the storms of the world from a new vantage point--one that is necessarily fresh daily.

It's a romantic dream, sure. But I have no doubt parts of it will come true. I'm already configuring my savings to meet these goals. And it's truly difficult to scrape enough coins together monthly to be feel like progress is happening.

I guess half of progress is in the mind?

I don't think I believe that's true. It's a pretty privileged mindset. I've been in poverty. In fact, I freshly on the other side of that line, and just barely. And if my ex has it his way, I'll be back in poverty as penance for following one of my dreams and relocating to a different state.

Sigh. I could get into that but I won't. Honestly, I don't have the energy to spend that way.
