New mega device for homestead - tractor

in Homesteadinglast year

Another extremely useful device has appeared in our homestead - a tractor.

This is an old Soviet T25 produced in the late 80s. 25 horsepower motor and rear-wheel drive.

Of course, the device is not young, but in good condition and fully functional. Only the headlights are missing and the brakes don't work well and the handbrake doesn't work at all. Otherwise, the tractor is fully functional. Trailer and a plow was included with the tractor.

A tractor is a great tool for all kinds of dirty work. It would seem that I have a pickup truck, but I don't want to carry manure in it. There is a cultivator, but it is small and it's hard for them to handle large areas, and the tractor is just designed for all these tasks.

I got used to the controls quickly. I put my youngest son in the cab and we went to test the device.

I tested the tractor in real conditions - I transported manure, updating my manure pile, the one on which I collected a record harvest of zucchini.

The tractor showed its best side. It was unusual to steer a car without power steering - very noticeable after urban subcompacts, but this is the case habits.

Maybe someday I will upgrade and put some kind of hydraulic booster, but for now I will use what I have, especially since I have plenty of work for this tractor.

My husband could not have run our homestead farm without our tractor. The difference between ours and yours is he was adamant that it have a serviceable bucket. That was the thing he used the most.
