my nerves are worn thin by the forced routine of wait. this reality forced upon us by the elements.
having said that, I think I handle it better than most.
I visualize my patience, as a spiders. a blind trust in the divine plan and the rhythm of its unraveling.
blind to such point, a spider often dies waiting in his web. I believe acceptance is a virtue, if you let it be.
today seems to be a turning point. there is finally an opening in the weather for the sun to shine in.
a chance for the water to recede.
today is also a day, so cloudy and rainy, that I would not be able to get enough battery charge to write this post.
so I am currently sitting in the office of our local municipality, a privilege I keep for very special circumstances like this case of so many consecutive days of heavy cloud cover, too many for my photovoltaic system to be able to handle.
I was happy when I arrived here earlier only to meet a neighbor who told me that there is already another system in the making on its way over bringing yet more rain our way.
as time passes and I do not get the wood chipper over to process the two large heaps of olive branches from the recent pruning, I have decided to opt for burning 🔥.
it isn´t what i normally do, as i see it as a waste of organic material, just thrown out into the atmosphere, rather than process it and keep it on the farm.
this time, due to the circumstances, I consider making the exception.
🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️
here are some fun stats I like to calculate when it rains.
as I do not measure precipitation myself, I use the numbers from the forecast.
so for example, Mr. weatherman has predicted 25mm of rainfall for today.
every 1mm of rainfall over an area of 1 square meter is equal to 1 liter of water.
for that matter, the size of our farm is 2.2 Hectares (or 22000 square meters)
so we take the prediction and multiply it by the total area of the farm.
25 x 22000 = 550,000 Liters of water falling on the farm today !
the results are always hugely sounding..!
this is such a good charge for our aquifers ❤️
we are over 2 million liters of water so far this week. that is a lot of water. I only wish it would be more evenly divided throughout the year.
to be continued... !
thank you for stopping by 🙏
wishing us all a peaceful (and dry) week.
