It was good to see him yesterday morning. My doctor friend/client had a pace maker put in over the winter and I had been curious how it had gone and how he is doing. It changed things for the better for sure and he is much more mobile. Sadly his wife is in full time care now thanks to the extreme dementia. She had been on the down slide for years and he finally couldn't take care of her himself.
I got the irrigation and water feature going for the summer and checked everything over well. It's been about 15 years now I have been doing the startup and shutdown for him.
Back on the farm I got the trailer hooked up to the car, backed it up next to the greenhouse, then wheelbarrowed loads of grain up to the last garden spot to be covered.
It didn't take the whole load to cover the area.
So the rest got spread in the main garden which pissed the birds off as they couldn't have any. They were massed around the fence like the piglets they are. They got the scraps left in the bed liner on the trailer.
The garlic is growing great. It looks like every single clove is growing into a bulb. About 3ish more months till they should be ready.
I got my paraglider stuffed into the harness pack in a first. I thought it should fit. Normally I strap my wing on the outside but for a multi mile hike I wanted it more compact. This will work much nicer.
The new fire pit needed to be started which required dealing with the ground first.
Pulled out the tamper to try and solidify the ground some. The last pit went uneven from the bricks sinking in the ground.
I got a start on the layout but need to do some more leveling before I go into full stack mode.
We all went for a hike up the hill and into the upper pen to look for the trees that I will use for the treehouse/platform. I found the perfect stand of 4 that I can use 2 as under supports and the 2 side trees as the side supports.
Eventually it will have this view down the valley. Just higher up off the ground.
Wild fungus growing from the old roots of a fir.
Trying for the center bull and I stacked all 3 as close as possible without actually hitting it. Great grouping...
I had to restack the mini pit and got the firer going in it for the grilling later. I had to let the wood burn down a lot so it wouldn't be too much.
The UFC main bout came on and I was interested to see if Erceg could do it, but he got unanimous decisioned for the loss after 5 rounds. Brandon of course blubbered like a baby after the win.
The coals were low enough I got the burgers on to grill.
Then a quick toasting of the buns.
Out to soak a bit later after watching the last episode of the Forrest Fenn treasure show. There is a new treasure hidden, 60 pounds of gold, jewels, meteorite, crypto, etc. and poem and book are out now along with the Netflix show that has tons of clues in it. I have J working on it taking notes.
Going paragliding with the club today at a new spot that we will have to hike a ways to the top of. Sounds like up to 10 of us will be going and the winds look like they will be perfect. I would love to get a huge ridge soaring session in since the ridge is 13 miles long from Loon Lake to Long Lake.
