It helps that I am a morning person since many of the sports I watch are in Europe and tend to be going on at 5am our time. Such was the darts open each morning. I got my posts done then headed out to open the cop for the birds. I'm still fiddling with the opener but figured out the problem.
Man Utd SUCK massive donkey dick. It is going to be a serious miracle if ETH manages to make it to another season as manager. Their stats are worst in the league yet they are somehow in the upper part of the table. Seriously, they must have paid off someone to be where they are tight now... Somehow they managed a tie but they absolutely did not deserve it.
It ends up being the servo died which was wigging out the Arduino. I unplugged the servo and things popped right back to. I managed to get the code so I don't need an RTC, the wifi pulls the time from the ntp server at startup which eliminates one component and one possible point of failure.
I did figure out at closing time that the swap if the sensor shield I did caused the light sensor to read different. It was reading up to mid 800s when dark but now the new shield only read into the 500s. I will swap the shield back out today to get back to the correct light sensor readings.
The boys wanted to make cinnamon rolls so they spent much of the mid day working on them. It took them quite a while to get them done but they did manage to by mid afternoon. Surprisingly they worked together to get them done with only minimal help from us.
The evening session of darts was on mid day and the Germans had a solid showing at their home turf. I can't help but try and examine each player's throw and grip of the darts. I have this weird fascination with the variances and how much different each player is from one another. Some players have some weird ticks and habits like Van Den Berg who after every throw has his throwing hand in his pocket, every single time, it's hard not to see it.
Mid day was provably NOT the best time to transplant but I did it anyway. The cabbage in the greenhouse has gotten to a really nice size so I dug them all up and transplanted them into a row in the main garden.
It gave me 11 spots with super nice growth. I hope that they will take off and produce soon.
UFC 300 came on at 3pm and after the first couple of fights @stryeyz and I went to our nearest bar for a couple of drinks. We have 3 of them 2 miles from the farm and it was a gorgeous day.
It's such a small place but they have a good amount of space including the outside out back. We were there at the right time as more and more vehicles pulled into the parking lot as we drank.
Back on the farm I got the fire going in the pit so I could grill fro dinner.
The new Pi zero 2 showed up and I got it installed. It fit a lot better without the header pins and it also is more powerful than the original Pi 0.
@stryeyz is learning the joys of grouping. Regardless of the point of aim the fact of grouping is important. If I can consistently get the darts grouped closely then it is just a matter of moving the group around the board. That consistent throw is the hard part.
UFC 300 was pretty wild in some fights and it was great to see Jiri win who just might get another crack at he belt. The BMF fight was insane with Justin getting his face FUCKED up! Such a great fight.
I grilled our burgers for dinner while the fights kept going.
I decided to go soak during the co-main and ended up back inside after only half an hour thanks to my shitty skin. I got to see the main which went pretty quick.
Today I think I'm screwed for flying as the winds have shifted and I likely missed my chance to go yesterday, seriously annoying. I'll be watching them though in case they shift... Otherwise I have to keep working around the farm, the coop door needs more fine tuning now that I have a good handle on the problems, grass is needing to be cut already, I need to pickup oil and a filter for my truck and change them out, and I don't know what else.
