Hello Hive

Happy weekend to all and sundry. The
The weekend is very quiet here as usual, with nothing much to do. Yesterday I had a very hectic day on the farm and was away from the hive completely.
We are already on the lookout for the place we will be using for this year's farming activities; we will be needing bigger farmlands, larger capital, machinery, and labor.

Last year was more of an experience for us, and this year we are getting ready to put in all the knowledge gained into productive use. Hoping to grow larger amounts of food/grains for commercial purposes and profit.
We have traveled to some nearby villages to check on available farmable lands. All of that blog update will be coming in soon.

For today the gardening activities have been like a routine.
From wetting and nurturing my fluted pumpkins, which have continued to grow with absolutely no issues yet.
And then to the potato stems, which I have been equally able to keep alive for a next year planting.

This is good because when the time and season come to plant these, they may not be readily available, and instead of growing new vegetative parts from the leaves before we can plant them, I can directly make use of these.

I have been constantly wetting this, and it's really surprising that it has only one root embedded in a sack here. Yet it has managed to spread stems all across this place. I thought that this thing could only be grown on the grounds in farms, but since the soil here is not deep-rooted, I decided to preserve these by planting them in a sack, and they did survive.

I am really not happy that I have yet to get some vegetable seeds for planting. My seed seller hasn't been able to open the store for the year. They probably must be having some issues to not have opened that store up until now when we have passed the mid days into the first month of the new year.

I haven't been able to get seeds from anywhere. The vegetable bed I have prepared for planting has gradually gotten dry and hard after all the viability treatment I have given these. I'm not really pleased that this place is yet to be covered with edible green veggies. I have to go further into other localities in search of seeds; perhaps we will be able to start and keep a garden before the rains come.
