We all know how important onions is among the spices we used to savor our meals. And while I have been on the quest to add more specie of vegetables and spices to my garden, it was a thing a pleasure to know and to have learnt a possible way to grow onions.

Here is the first experimental sample of onions I have planted and grown in a container to experience the first process

Growing onions can be this simple.
My little brother has bought a tiny onions bulb and we inserted the root in this little container filled with fertile soil. All we have done ever since was to continually watch the onions until it started to germinate.

At a point I have completely forgotten about this until today when he brought it out from the safe where we have kept it and we were surprised at the growth level.
It was really surprising for me seeing that it has grown so much to this length.

From this one can harvest the leaves almost immediately for those that love spring onions for their cooking. I did understood that breaking off some of the leaves wouldn’t kill the onions as the leaves can regenerate and continue to grow from the tip.

Even without adding fertilizer to this it is quite obvious that this onions has flourished well in this tiny container.

From this I can now decided to add as much onions to my garden veggies. To plant onions you can decide to use an abandon container or sack, fill them with fertile soil and purchase the tiny onion 🧅 bulbs form the market.

The tiny ones are really more preferable as the larger ones are matured and meant to be keep for our food. Locate your onions root and dipped them in the well watered fertile soil. Planting the tiny bulbs will give it room to grow after germinating.

Although I am unsure if there are different species of onions yet or any agric engineered one but it is good to know that even local onions bought from the market can germinate, grow and produce this much result. I am more pleased to learn this way and to know that I can grow onions henceforth in my little garden at home here

Knowing how much I spend on a daily basis to purchase onions knowing fully well that it is an important part of our meals, this is certainly one best way to escape that expenses and grow some quality onions at home.
