Ripe Peppers in January NO GREENHOUSE NO GEOTHERMAL

in Homesteading3 months ago

Have you ever tried this gardening hack?

Close enough to the equator, pepper plants can be perennials. For most US gardeners, this is not the case though. Both in my native Wisconsin, and now here in the Ozarks, we've enjoyed a garden hack that allows us the opportunity to harvest some ripe peppers well into the freezing and sometimes snowing winter, all without any greenhouse or geothermal assistance.

Honestly, it's as easy as lifting a plant out of the garden bed and potting it up to move it inside our home for the winter, but there's more to it than that. Having enjoyed this hack off and on for about a decade now, I thought it was time to share it here on our channel.

Have you ever tried this? Did your peppers continue to provide ripe fruit after the move indoors? Did you enjoy having much larger pepper plants to plant outside in the garden the following spring? Let us know below and enjoy the show!

I love hot peppers! Here in southern California they produce all year. Great peppers you got there!
