Acknowledging God

How do we acknowledge God?

I read a post the other day written by @simms50 and it really got me thinking especially after reading a comment from @ironshield. Do I really know God and even more important, do I acknowledge Him. How do I acknowledge Him? Is it just by saying that I serve Him?

Scripture says:
" Whoever acknowledges Me before others, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven"
(Matthew 10:32-33)

What a powerful scripture!! I tried to think of examples of how and when I acknowledged God. This made me think of a man who use to work with my husband. We are definitely not perfect and we make many mistakes. We are considered by many as "weird" because of our interests but we try to live a life in which God is visible. We try to let our actions match what we believe. I don't believe that I have to tell anyone and everyone that I am a believer. I believe in living in such a way that people can see it.

Anyway, my husband and I enjoy doing bible study, especially topics that people don't really talk about, for example - How many people were really created, timeline and lives of Seth and Cain, Nephilim, demons & evil spirits, how different religions work and what they believe, etc. My husband and I met in a bar and 2 years later starting dating after going on 1 or 2 ghost tours together. So you see, we are weird... So this man that worked with my husband (Let's call him Mike), did not believe in God at all. However, over lunch breaks he heard plenty of conversations between my husband and I concerning our studies. We never, ever told Mike that we were believers but it was quite obvious and as I said previously we really tried to let our overall actions match that which we believe in. After a few months Mike started showing interest in our studies and he started asking questions and ultimately even started doing some reading of his own. Just by the way that we lived, we made someone who does not believe question his own beliefs or as I would like to say, "denials".

Isn't this an acknowledgement of God? We don't just acknowledge His name but we acknowledge His existence by the way we live and conduct ourselves and in this case God acknowledged / confirmed His existence to us again. By merely saying that we are believers is an acknowledgement of yourself and your own beliefs. Our walk should match our talk...

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths"
(Proverbs 3:5-6)

In today's day and age we really need to live as close to God as we possibly can and we really need to acknowledge Him in all our ways because with everything happening right now people need to see Him. Just hearing about God and His Son Jesus is not enough. There are so many false prophets out there and it is so easy to be deceived.

"But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect"
(1 Peter 3:15)

Be prepared to answer anyone who ASKS you... They will only ask you if you live a life that reflects your beliefs and they want what you have which is hope, hope that can only come from living close to God. I love God and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is King and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead and that He is alive! and I won't hesitate to tell anyone who wants to know. Nowadays most people lose interest the moment you tell them you're a Christian / believer because unfortunately there are many "Christians / believers" today that does NOT represent a God of love by the way they condemn and judge others, they don't represent a God of love by the way they live.

Acknowledge God by reflecting His character which is known by the fruit of His Spirit

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law"
(Galatians 5:22-23)

Acknowledge God in this way to anyone and everyone, be it a Christian, Moslem, Buddhist, Atheist, Satanist, black, white, pink, yellow or purple because while we are here we are to reflect to all the fact that there is a living God, the one and only God, one Creator and one Savior. It's not our job to judge, it's our job to live in such a way that proves that we serve a living God.

I know many people can give good examples on how to acknowledge God and examples of things that people think does acknowledge God when in fact they are not. I would really like to know some of your personal stories and examples. Everyone needs some inspiration and motivation sometimes. I know I do.

I hope this helped someone today and I hope to hear from you SOON :)

Very good post @unspoken.truth We definitely need to live the Christian but I also believe to tell. We must have a testimony of what God do for us and we must tell people.
Thank you for writing. 🌼

Yes of course we should tell people about God but we should live life in such a way that we have a testimony. What I mean here is that some people tell everyone they are Christian but their actions, especially in their treatment towards others, say something different and by doing this other people are discouraged from coming to God. Don't be a "bible basher". We are all guilty of sin. It is only by the grace of God that we are saved and only by His son Jesus that we are forgiven. One should remember that when dealing with non believers :)

Excellent post! I'm glad what I posted inspired you!
