It's been raining all day, and of course that means I’ve spent most of my time sitting in front of my computer. But hey, even if the water made my path to the shop a no-go, I didn’t let St. Peter determine how productive my day was going to be.

Today was the first time @jersont onboarded someone using our backup system, and I’m happy to report: my little bot worked. It’s nothing fancy, I admit, but it gives us a fallback, and lately, that’s been a focus of mine.

I had a few important conversations today—significant ones, I’d say. Seems like my brother is going to make a big move, leaving the US as well, and we started discussing how he could make that happen. Having done that myself, I’m qualified to advise, I would say. But he wasn’t the only voice on the other side of the phone that had my full attention.

A good friend of my older brother represents a big vending machine firm here in Ecuador. He’s getting ready to implement a new type of product, and my brother is working on the software for these custom machines. In passing, my brother mentioned to Nick (placeholder name) that it would be amazing if he could implement HBD into his vending machines. That simple comment turned into a two-hour conversation.

I have to say, I never imagined buying a Snickers bar with HBD from a vending machine, but I can’t think of a reason why that’s not a great idea. The conversation went even further, as more ideas rushed into my head. At some point, I even said his vending machines should sell HBD. A natural progression, I submit, since they accept cash and cards by default.

Okay, I know, I’m putting too many things on the table. My brother and I are working on too many fronts, and it could backfire. But we’re mostly in the planning stages with these ideas, so I think we’re safe. For now.

Although I’ve spent four days working on bots now, and only successfully deployed one, my real attention is going to turn towards finishing Hive Snaps. I think it’s the one idea that is most likely to make a big difference, and that has me the most motivated.

Ha estado lloviendo todo el día, y por supuesto eso significa que he pasado la mayor parte del tiempo frente a mi computadora. Pero bueno, aunque el agua hizo que el camino a mi taller fuera imposible, no dejé que San Pedro determinara cuán productivo sería mi día.

Hoy fue la primera vez que @jersont incorporó a alguien usando nuestro sistema de respaldo, y me alegra informar que: mi pequeño bot funcionó. No es nada lujoso, lo admito, pero nos da un plan B, y últimamente eso ha sido un enfoque mío.

Tuve algunas conversaciones importantes hoy, diría que significativas. Parece que mi hermano va a dar un gran paso, dejar Estados Unidos también, y comenzamos a hablar sobre cómo podría lograrlo. Habiendo hecho yo eso antes, diría que estoy calificado para aconsejar. Pero no fue la única voz al otro lado del teléfono que tuvo mi atención total.

Un buen amigo de mi hermano mayor representa una gran empresa de máquinas expendedoras aquí en Ecuador. Se está preparando para implementar un nuevo tipo de producto, y mi hermano está trabajando en el software de estas máquinas personalizadas. De pasada, mi hermano le comentó a Nick (nombre ficticio) que sería increíble si pudiera implementar HBD en sus máquinas expendedoras. Ese simple comentario se convirtió en una conversación de dos horas.

Tengo que decir que nunca me imaginé comprando una barra de Snickers con HBD en una máquina expendedora, pero no se me ocurre ninguna razón por la que no sea una gran idea. La conversación fue aún más lejos, ya que más ideas comenzaron a llover en mi cabeza. En un punto incluso dije que sus máquinas deberían vender HBD. Una progresión natural, diría yo, ya que aceptan efectivo y tarjetas por defecto.

Ok, lo sé, estoy poniendo demasiadas cosas sobre la mesa. Mi hermano y yo estamos trabajando en demasiados frentes, y podría salirnos mal. Pero la mayoría de estas ideas están en etapa de planificación, así que creo que estamos seguros. Por ahora.

Aunque llevo cuatro días trabajando en bots y solo he logrado desplegar uno, mi atención real se va a enfocar en terminar Hive Snaps. Creo que es la idea que más probablemente haga una gran diferencia, y por eso es la que más me motiva.
