It was a really good week of football in GW6 with the North London derby, an 8-0 shellacking in the Sheffield v Newcastle game and what ultimately ended up being a bit of an angry performance from reigning champions City, despite going 2 goals up early against Forest.
All in all what it meant is that this season continues to prove challenging as far as putting really big scores on the board. The points are out there but they're not always distributed amongst the popular picks in the way that they tended to be in the 2022/23 season.
The one thing I'm looking forward to this week is the multitude of games that take place on Saturday. Last game week there were just 5 matches on the Saturday with only 3 taking place at the traditional kick-off time of 3pm. This week we have 8 Saturday matches in what looks likely to be a festival of football including 6 taking place at 3pm.

GW7 Fixtures and Previews
Division 1
@pappyelblanco v @b0s
Top of the league Legion FC face another tough match against Creekside FC. Legion shot to the top of the table with an impressive 87 point haul in GW6 but Creekside can be confident from the fact that the 2 GWs before that, they've managed to outscore their opponents.
At the back, there are virtually no differences between the teams although Legion FC clearly hold the advantage of having Trippier over his understudy Livramento. Both sides have injured or suspended defenders so depending on their priorities in the transfer market, we may yet see another couple of differentials.
In midfield it looks likely to be a really good battle. Son and Salah are 2 of the form players this season and of course go head to head themselves this weekend in a game that looks likely to produce more goals.
Both sides will also be hoping that Manchester United have turned a corner with Legion FC the first team in Division 1 to select Hojlund. The big Dane has certainly looked a threat in recent matches can he translate that into goals and FPL points?
@Ipalibo v @gvkanten
A large factor in the outcome of this fixture could be who makes the best choice in goal. With 4 differentials to choose from and all 4 of them with a decent shout of a clean sheet this week those bonus points look likely to be crucial in what will otherwise be a tight match.
At the back you'd fancy that Whyte FC hold the upper hand with Saliba and Botman also playing in fixtures where their sides should be able to deliver a shut out.
Elsewhere there is very little to choose between the 2. Again, we have a Son v Salah situation while Hungry Lions alongside a lot of FPL managers will be keen to see their patience in Marcus Rashford pay off. United have a relatively simple run of fixtures coming up so that could prove the catalyst for his and his team's season.
Darwin Nunez got just his 2nd start of the season in GW6 and contributed once again. He currently has a goal involvement in EPL 23/24 of once every 43mins and could prove to be a big factor in this match-up.
@mckane v @martinlazizi
Lazz made it 3 wins in a row in GW6 while FC McKane are also on their way up the league in this battle of the form teams.
There are plenty of differentials between the 2 sides and it's very difficult to really pick out who has the better options until you reach the forward line-ups. Lazz with Antonio and Alvarez certainly look the more likely to deliver ahead of Semenyo and Archer.
In fact Semenyo hasn't started in either of Bournemouth's last 2 matches and the Cherries face a difficult challenge this week against Arsenal. Meanwhile, Cameron Archer much like Semenyo, had a good start to the campaign but now finds himself in a side trying to come to terms with an 8-0 defeat.
@nonsowrites v @elmose
No Haaland, no problem for Nonz FC who have put together back to back wins to move up to 12th. However, the 57 points they recorded last week was the lowest scoring of any winning side in a division 1 head to head match and 11 points short of the overall game average, suggesting that Espada Numero Uno have a very good chance of arresting their 3 match losing streak in this fixture.
There are some nice match-ups in the midfield as free scoring Liverpool take on Spurs on Saturday evening with Nonz FC having both Salah and Luis Diaz in their ranks. While for Espada Numero Uno, they continue to bank on Manchester United duo Fernandes and Rashford adding more points throughout what looks like an easier run of matches.
Both sides have West Ham assets and it will be interesting to see how their opponents this weekend (Sheffield United) respond to the heavy defeat last Sunday.
Upfront, Haaland gets a chance against a Wolves defence that shipped 3 goals against a Championship side midweek while Newcastle host newly promoted Burnley suggesting that Isak will get an opportunity to add to his goal tally.
@borran v @deniskj
Both teams recorded much needed victories last week with I Feel Qatari putting up particularly impressive numbers.
As you can see above, there is very little to separate these 2 teams so selection, transfer and captain picks will all be crucial in determining the outcome of the tie.
Akanji and Saliba at the back do give Hiveheadz an advantage but you'd suggest that I Feel Qatari hold the edge in midfield thanks to Son who has 5 goals in his last 3 appearances compared to Sterling and Eze who both face difficult away trips in GW6.
Managers who own Mbeumo will have been interested to see that he played the full 90mins in midweek and that he finished the game against Everton playing as a right-wing back. He is still owned by 30% of teams but you wonder if that number may begin to fall in the coming weeks...
@teofilex11 v @belemo
Lots of variables in this fixture should mean it's one to watch for the duration of the weekend.
Likodra FC have some interesting picks in defence and certainly the likes of Cash and Porro have the ability to add points in attack. However, if it's clean sheet bonuses that you're looking for then you'd have to say that Saliba away at Bournemouth looks the most likely for Inzanagi FC.
In midfield, Inzanagi FC will be sweating on the fitness of Saka and Maddison after a bruising North London Derby. While Likodra have the very consistent Salah and JWP who might fancy a goal involvement against Sheffield United this weekend.
Upfront, could be interesting. Inzanagi FC have the bigger names at more successful clubs but Solanke has found form of late and Iwoniyi will feel confident of getting on the score sheet against a Brentford side that was very poor against Everton last week.
@blockchainfpl v @pvmihalache
It's the battle of the bottom two! BlockchainFPL with just a single win all season v Content Creators who have the lowest total score in Division 1 so far.
The immediate issue that Content Creators face is the suspension of 3 of their players for GW6 (Gusto, Rodri and Jackson). They may well be forced into playing a chip or otherwise making multiple transfers for this one.
In defence, you'd fancy that Trippier at home to Burnley could add points from both an offensive and defensive perspective and in fact, Content Creators in general look like they will be relying on Newcastle assets to get them big points this weekend too.
BlockchainFPL will hope that United's win over Crystal Palace in midweek when both teams put out shadow sides can be replicated in the league this weekend when the 2 sides meet again. Marcus Rashford could certainly do with a goal involvement to silence the critics.
@vickoly v @talesfrmthecrypt
Augment FC continued their fine form and moved up to second in the league with yet another win in GW6. At the other end of the table Suffragette City sit 18th and know that at least one of the sides below them is guaranteed to pick up points this weekend.
There are plenty of variables in the squads but both sides may need to make additional changes due to unavailability. Suffragette City already know that both their Chelsea assets are suspended but for Augment FC it'll be a case of watching the pre-match news for fitness updates on the likes of Bailey, Lisandro Martinez, Saka, Isak and Ferguson, all of whom are a doubt for this weekend.
Upfront, both Isak and Alvarez started the midweek game against each other. Could that be an indication that they'll be rested for the EPL matches this weekend?
@amirtheawesome1 v @shamzy
The Amirians were very unfortunate to lose their GW6 tie with a score of 84 and once again find themselves up against one of the form teams in the division with Shamzy FC coming in off the back of 3 straight victories.
Shamzy FC look to hold a slight advantage in defensive areas certainly as far as the likelihood of those assets playing and recording clean sheets goes.
However, in more advanced positions you'd say that on current form The Amirans have an edge. The fitness of James Maddison could be a crucial factor to the outcome of this match but another man in equally good form is Pedro Neto who has 5 goal involvements in his last 4 EPL appearances. Can he add to that against the reigning champions this weekend?
Upfront, both Alvarez and Wissa started in their sides' midweek matches, while Callum Wilson was benched for the visit of City in the Carabao Cup. Is that an indication that he'll be given the nod ahead of Isak upfront in an appealing looking fixture against struggling Burnley?
@yagman01 v @thoth442
Two sides that have enjoyed strong starts to the campaign but suffered defeat in their most recent fixtures go head to head in GW7.
Yagman have a couple of injury and suspension concerns to overcome to ensure their squad is at full strength. Otherwise they are looking at a large number of their star players playing in away fixtures this weekend. Conversely, thoth442FC can benefit from the likes of Fernandes and Maddison playing at home in GW7.
Of course, that might not be such an important factor for the likes of Mo Salah who has offered up a goal involvement in all 6 rounds so far this season. Equally, Liverpool have scored in all 15 of their most recent matches vs Spurs and if that trend continues, you'd be very surprised if the Egyptian didn't at least have a hand in the goal(s).

Good luck to everyone in their Head to Head matches this weekend.
Every week I look at my match-up and think "I should win this one". Would I be surprised if I lose again? Probably not.
So far this season, I've spent a huge amount of time watching people on YouTube with all of their wonderful advice. This week, I've ignored them all...
I've left a 9 point player on the bench for the last 3 weeks. Top tip, ask me who I'm benching and captain them!
!BEER
Thanks for the tip - other than Haaland, I'm not sure any of my players have ever scored 9 points 😆
Who are you benching this weekend?
